My copy landed today from Rough trade. Not listened To it yet but will do later....

I have/had a copy of all the colours. Yellow - Bad misalignment. Blue - misalignment (not quite as bad). Clear - fine Red - fine Black - sounds best to my ears (played on LP12)

I much prefer the original film trailer cover to the illustrated versions. Guess that's why I don't go mad for Mondo releases - the illustrations are too stylised and unenecessarily graphic design. To me it's a bit of a fad and can quickly look dated. Come to think of it I hate Shephard Fairy in the same way I hate Banksy and all that urban 'art' shit, it's just a veneer with no real content...

I think a lot of the presentation resolution of MFSL vinyl pressings is down to the quality and set up of your deck. If your cartridge is not 100% aligned with correct vta etc and is not clean or looked after properly then you are not getting the best out of a MOFI press (for those of even further audiophile curiosity should check Sheffield Lab pressings - direct to disc, they sound immense). Most sound amazingly good with a good set up. My word of advice would be not to sleep on the better albums they press because once they are gone the prices quickly escalate. My favourite mfsl is frank Sinatra 'live at the sands' superb live recording with Frank in full swing. Was available for $40 before it sold out. Now expect to pay +$200. The Beck sea change press just goes up and up on ebay. Do not sleep on the forthcoming Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue' press. This will sell out in time and in a year or two will be a most sought after press.

Just to add my 2 pence worth. Nest 'Retold' is totally amazing !!! Wonderful pressing , sounds crystal clear. For those hesitating because of high postage to States I'd just buy it because you won't regret it. My favourite modern classical / ambient LP for the last few years.

did these really need repressing ? I mean there a literally loads of the Silva screen issue still available out there ? now Dark knight is a different matter....that's the one they should have repressed !

have the first press with the gold label but never once have I seen for sale the gold vinyl issue. the gold label version has sold for $100-ish before on ebay... BB

Got it on Friday. Unbelievably good score... one of the releases of the year IMHO. I'd advise against sleeping on this...

A total clusterfuck is what Cult Records are. emailed them about 5 times now. first time I got a reply saying they'll be shipping this week and next - that was 5 weeks ago. Last time I order from them..

Bull Moose lose a hell of a lot of business not shipping to the UK/EU. I've tried many a time to order through them but now don't even bother. I can think of maybe $200-300 of records I'd have bought from them over the last year or two. It's not hard Bull Moose, there is this thing called 'international postage'. yeah it costs more but what you do is you make the willing customer pay for it...

The Congress OST arrived via Amazon today. White vinyl. Is there a black pressing ? haven't seen one listed anywhere, so it looks like its just the 500 on white for now. sounds amazing. Totally recommend.

I've had this on the shelf sealed since its release. completely forgot about it. just broke the seal and listened to it. Wow ! beautiful score. thoroughly recommend this one. And looks like its still available even though only 300 pressed.
