yeah, it's been a few weeks living with it now and I'm still kinda lukewarm on it. it's not unpleasant, but it's not the return to form I was expecting...

He said many times, this was simply a collection of previous work he needed to put out so he could move on. He's still lightyears ahead of his contemporaries, and I personally feel like "aisatsana [102]" is one of the prettiest things I've ever heard.

Picked up Guardians of the Galaxy My Awesome Mix vol 1 on LP today. EU pressing.

 

The price on amazon.com is crazy. Basic release, no insert or whatever.

This album is Heavy as hell, picked it up at my local shop last Thursday. Definitely some of Electric Wizards best work, some nice little throwbacks to Dopethrone as well. The gatefold picture is awesome along with the inner sleeves, which includes lyrics and an amazing G.G. Allin Pic. If anyone wants it, ill post the deadwax when I get home.

So, I was talking to a friend on Facebook... he said he got an email from Kevin @ Waxwork claiming...

 

"I've just learned from Waxwork Records there is a problem with this pressing (affecting all 5 variants). Tracks 16 &17 are duplicates of Tracks 1 & 2 and there is noise on the incorrect tracks. I had an email from Kevin @ Waxwork confirming Creepshow was scheduled for a repress."

 

Now, I just found this out last night, so I haven't had a chance to listen and confirm that is it true. Can anyone else confirm it?*

If it is true, and Waxwork knew about it, and that is why they are doing a repress, I think that is a bunch of baloney and kind of a shady way to handle things, IMO.

 

Thoughts? 

 

* meaning the mistake/noisy tracks, not the repress. They told me that when I tried to get replacement jackets that were seam split that they were going to be repressed. No reason why though.

So I was re-listening to my copy of this today and tracks 16&17 on mine, are totally tracks 1&2 repeated

Anyone know when the hot cash thing will be finished and records go back online?

 

Also, Tampa International Plaza hot topic has the worst display ever. They are using this double-sided 3-bin with each side the shape of an E (back-to-back) with the bins right on top of each other. The top bin higher than I am tall (5'6), so I cannot even see what records are on top without reaching for records out of sight and taking them down to browse in my hands. Many of the records have been damaged from the shelf and are not in alphabetical order. The one record I came to find.. 1 copy was in stock, but half of its shrink had been removed and the vinyl itself was scratched up in 3 places. Really piss-poor management of the only store in the Tampa/Clearwater area that sells vinyl.

HotCash ends on Sunday. Vinyl should be back up monday morning, for 9/30 releases!!!

If you order another record, it's free shipping for orders over 50 bucks, I picked up this and "Nine Types of Light" by TV on the Radio for 52 bucks. Not so bad if you ask me, but then again nobody did...

It sure would be nice if it was true.

My friend who works at the Washington store said that after July, Hot Topic is getting rid of their current music set up in favor of vinyl. I would say its more than just a rumor!

Really small town in the Midwest. There are only 5 of us in the area who care about music, and we don't sell anything online, so we usually just open the boxes as the show up.

If this is still in the shop today I'll take a picture of it for you, I know its on a pink white red spatter to match the cover. I should be able to get more info about the mix as well.

There are 7500 being pressed, this will sit aside the hunderds of unsold copies of Zaireeka in your local record store.

Coyne's a dick anyway, he kicked Kliph out of the group so fuck buying this release.

That Flaming Lips looks good on clear. I am a sucker for clear vinyl. Might add that to the list now...

It's worth it. If you're into the "Lips" darker instrumental side, you'll dig this. One of their better "one-off" releases . Flippers are already asking a hundred on this so it's buy now, or get screwed later.

Curious... is the cover of the Congratulations reissue scratch-off?

It's not other than that it's almost identical to the first press. These are also gold stamp numbered on the back.
