  1. It's recently been repressed. Or maybe it was never out of print? I swear that months ago I looked all over but couldn't find it. So I finally bit the bullet and bought a $40 copy. Two days later I saw the exact same copy/color on Southern Lord for $25. Three days later I saw the exact same copy/color at my record shop for $25. Mother f.....

But it was still worth it. Nice grab though. EW should have a new album out soon, but if you see any of their old albums, snag 'em; they're all great.

    This^^

I was lucky enough that my local shop had it for $25 for like...forever. If others are looking for it I know that one of the shops near me has the black variant and another had a copy last time I was in there, don't remember what color but I think it was a brownish one.

  2. I like the idea of cremation with spreading in personally significant places. I also get the desire for people to have a place to gather to mourn so I want a bench donated on the NJ Boardwalk in my name. I really don't want people keeping my ashes on their mantle though.

Why couldn't they gather to mourn at the personally significant place is what I don't understand.  Especially if it's someplace beautiful. I get the not wanting to be on someone's mantel.  We sell these necklaces that you can fill with a little bit of cremated remains and people seem to really like those because they can scatter most of their loved one but keep just a bit.

  3. I want to be cremated and then have my ashes loaded up into one of those t-shirt cannon things and then shot directly at all my friends and family in attendance.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, our cremation rate is much higher than a lot of the country for some reason.  I do significantly fewer burials than I would if I lived on the east coast.

  4. As an expert, have you given thought based on your experience how you'd like to be buried? I hate to admit the amount of time I have thought about it but I feel I've been to enough memorials to know laying out what I'd like for those left behind is important.

I would prefer not to be buried, I've been looking into the legality of two things

    1) Viking burial.

    2) getting my bones cleaned by dermestid beetles and mounted as a skeleton.

If I were to do burial, I'd personally go with a green burial, no viewing.  Not as great for the company's bottom line, but I prefer it.

  5. i have no idea. hes angry about it, ill ask when he calms down. the irony is:

    1. the security guard is not armed

    2. our building does not allow weapons in the building

it totally makes no sense and i think he's silly for toting around 4 at once.

If it's truly concealed (as a concealed weapon should be) no one would even know if he was carrying.

Unarmed security is a joke. He's getting paid to just walk around your building

  6. so here is some awesome news. third break in at work (car in broad daylight across the street) and they guy (sits next to me) has a conceal and carry license. they broke into his car safe and took 4 guns.

    awesome.

Why wasn't he concealing and carrying a single gun, rather than keeping 4 in his car...? I also have concealed carry and I would never leave a bunch of guns in my car, even in a gun safe.

Do it!  I still get all tense and freaked out even tho I've seen it all before, haha.  I miss when it was airing in real time because of all the theories and questions lol.

I think I'm going to, wifey seemed into it too!

Edit: I only caught the last season when it was airing, so I got to watch everything else straight through without interruption  :)

  7. It was Implied.

The point I'm trying to make, is not everyone creams their jeans enough over things that are limited to less than their IQ to pay an extortionate amount for them.

Go see the Weeknd Trilogy box-set thread for proof. I think you may have a misguided perception of the majority viewpoint here.  Thinking the way you do is the reason why people at places like crank! start using airline sales tactics.

P.s. don't take me too seriously I'm just being a jaded (these years) wanker.

Totally, I am exactly 0% butthurt over anything you've said so far and I think you made a very fair and good argument.

I was kind of leary about even getting it at the /50 when I thought it was $40 but I was excited about seeing that they had it in stock because I had a boring day at work.

And really the Deja example I gave is just because I've seen more people with boners for that record than any other on here, I mean it's a good record, but c'mon.

After my first post I was somewhat just playing devil's advocate, I certainly thought more people would weigh in and we'd get a good discussion going.

That fucking Weeknd trilogy boxset. WTF. When that thing came out I was excited until I saw the price tag and then I dropped any idea of trying to own it. (not to mention House of Balloons is the only record out of that set I really wanted and I can just get a German boot of it.) but yeah, I don't think it's ok for them to do charge that much more, I was just trying to show the mindset behind why they might.

As it turns out I can't even justify the $20 shipped for a black copy, (I started out collecting years ago scouring thrift stores for records I wanted, now I don't even do that because Goodwill is charging $3 per record.)

I just got excited thinking about a record I didn't realize was still available while I was at work earlier, slow day.

  8. The black pressing is not unlimited. Infact, I believe it is out of 500.

The fact that there are blue copies still available just proves the point I made.

Every other label I buy records from sells the product at the same price regardless of the colour. Maybe they charge an extra dollar or two if it is 180gm or is some kind of deluxe edition.

I never said the black vinyl wasn't limited and I never tried to disprove your point... Obviously no one likes paying more for pretty much the same thing, and as I said knowing that the blue it isn't as limited as I thought, I'm no longer considering paying double the price; I was just stoked when I thought it was /50. I like when things are limited to double digits.

It's great that the labels you buy from only charge a dollar or two more for deluxe editions, most deluxe editions cost significantly more, maybe not double, but more than a buck or two. And yes, any time I've bought colored it has been either the same price, or sometimes up to $5 difference, but never double.  I'm just saying that it isn't out of the realm of consideration that the label feels they're justified in their pricing whether we agree with it or not.

  9. You should work out your lower back. When I moved one mile from where I lived... It wasn't the furniture, tables, toys, boxes of dvds, TV, bedstuff that was the hard part. Carrying the damn records out of the uHaul was the back bender!

    This^

The last three times I had to move my collection it was

    1st time: up 3 floors

    2nd:down 3 floors (duh)

    3rd:up 3 floors.

and let me tell you, after the 6th or 7th box...you're feeling it.

  10. The point is that Crank, the label that repressed it is selling the more limited color for a ridiculously high price. Shitty of them to

do. Who the fuck wants to pay $40 for a single LP directly from a label?

I mean, I get it and it is certainly shitty of them, and knowing that it isn't actually limited to 50 makes me want it significantly less so I probably won't be finishing my order for blue since I just asked him if he could hold on to one for me.

But I guess what I'm saying is, let's say Deja gets repressed and they're selling a black vinyl copy for $25, and an almost identical but colored and more limited version for $60. Are you telling me that there aren't people on this board who would snatch up every last one of those colored slabs?

I'm not trying to argue that it isn't shitty of them to do it, I'm just saying that it doesn't seem unthinkable that a company, which is what any label or distro is in the long run, would see the potential for profit and try to take advantage of it. Especially considering that if they were the same price from the label, they would be sold out long ago and flipped for at least $60 on the secondary market.

Anyway, long story short, like I said, not trying to start an argument or anything, I just don't see why anyone would knock someone for getting stoked that something they thought was limited to 50 copies wasn't sold out, and obviously if that same person posted the price, they know how much it cost.

  11. The reason they still have blue copies is they're the same thing but more than double the cost.

I mean...you could say that about any record though really, couldn't you?

Why is any variant more expensive than a black unlimited record? Because it's limited and colored.

Just because you're getting it at a marked up price direct from the distro rather than buying it at a marked up price on the secondary market doesn't make it any less limited or worthwhile, does it?
