  1. I forgot to say that my stuff came in late last week.  all was decent (Volbeat semi-warped but still plays okay...) except the Touche Amore which was so warped it looked like you could surf on it.

I ended up trying the oven trick on the Touche Amore instead of returning it 'cause I already used the dl code before checking the record out completely; I half pulled it out, but it was messed up on the other side... argh.  I think I ruined it, but not all is lost I guess.  I can make a hat maybe :P

It's too bad the sale's over, but I'm 85% pleased with what I got.

I would 95% guarantee if you made even a slight stink about it being warped, they'd ship you a new one.

  2. I think most people saw the gold go up, ordered as fast as possible, then SRC put theirs up the next day and nobody could justify buying another/wanted to cancel and wait for the refund from SSD.

Personally, I jumped on the gold variant thinking it was going to be the limited one, but then decided to stick with it because I think it matches the album artwork better than silver, even if it is less limited.  It's not like I'm going to be reselling this anyway, so I'm sticking with the version that appeals more to my aesthetic taste.

  3. I've always wanted to try al pastor but I'm always a stick in the mud with trying new things. Just don't want to pay for something I don't like.

My lady is the same way, she always orders the same food when we go out and it really kinda grinds my gears. She knows what she likes though, so there's that.  I always like trying new things though.  Al pastor is usually kind of sweet/spicy. I really prefer when it's pork rather than beef, but today I think it was beef. Still good though. I'm not as huge a fan when it actually has chunks of pineapple in it, but it's still good even with it. Definitely give it a go sometime! (preferably when you can get a taco for a buck or two so you're not wasting too much money if you don't like it.)

  4. Just saying you don't have to pay $45 to hear it, brah. The vinyl medium carries with it a certain expense. Turntables aren't cheap. Receivers aren't cheap. Speakers aren't cheap. No one who truly listens to records in it for efficiency.

I think what he's saying is "if you don't like the price, don't be a bitch. Don't buy it on vinyl, just listen to your digital copy and suck it up instead of whining about the price." Which neither I nor he was directing specifically at you by the way, so please don't direct your anger toward me for trying to clarify.

His follow up post just solidifies that this is his point, as he talks about the other expenses involved in this hobby.

He may also just be trolling you. :)
