Also thought I would share this, some of you might dig it maybe? It was really fun to be a part of and Sasha Geffen is just one of the best writers ever.

Hey guys! Just wanted to come on here and thank all of you for voicing different forms of support, advice or just general tidbits of information that you think could help us to run things a bit smoother around here. As you've probably guessed we've definitely in the 'slightly overwhelmed' zone in terms of orders and balancing time and other jobs and everything else lately, but I'm spending all of my time over the next little while to make sure everything's righted and that things get smoothly on track. We're just finishing getting the last of all the DSU records out and are gonna dive right into the Ontario Gothic records next *and* get back to everyone's emails about order issues or otherwise.
I just wanted to thank everyone for being so patient and understanding regarding everything, I know that it's a lot to ask, but I really do appreciate it. We've been trying our hardest to ensure everything runs like a well-oiled machine, but things have been so wild between the label itself and all the stuff / travel happening for Foxes in Fiction stuff, and yeah we're just really trying our hardest to be the best label that we can and figure out what changes need to happen so that we don't feel like we're all going crazy when things get wild So, thanks for everything you've all been doing, none of all this great stuff would be happening without you all.

Totally. We just had new custom mailers made about a month ago too that prevent records from moving around at all, so they're generally twice as secure as before when we were just using the generic LP mailers.
-
Whatever sleeve you decide to use, you should put the record outside of the jacket so it doesn't get seam splits.
Totally, we've been doing this with all the things we've been shipping lately, sleeves are more so just for the stuff we're *hopefully* going to get into some stores.
-
Yeah I just want something that I can seal off for the sake of displaying them in stores without having to worry about inserts falling out, and so I have a place to put a product sticker, I really don't care if they get thrown out afterwards or anything. And yeah the heat component of normal shrinkwrap really freaks me out so I think these would be purrrrrfect thanks for all the helpful info, everyone.
-
not sure if you're committed to shrinkwrapping or if that's something distros require, but these might be an easier alternative

Oh word this actually seems like it could be much better actually, thanks so much for the tip.
-
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I was wondering if any of you had any advice on the best ways / equipment to use when shrinkwrapping records? We're starting to figure out distribution stuff and since our releases have a ton of inserts with them, it's kinda a thing that we need to start doingggg. Any info or advice is welcome thank uuuuu in advance. x

The green ones look a lot better in person than than they do in photos. It wasn't the *exact* shade we were going for but I actually kind of like how it stands in contrast to all the subdued bucolic photographic packaging, idk it kind of reflects the nature of the record in my mind; nice lovely pretty exterior but with a fucked up and crazy interior.

Yikes, sorry to hear that you guys had less than pleasant experiences while we were out of town.
For those of you that are waiting on emails or information from me, I've got some other work to do today but I'll try and get back to everyone and get everything sorted out as soon as possible. Gonna try and do everything I can do to right the wrong orders, it may just take me a minute to get through everything, I'm sitting on a vertiable mountain of emails right now and I would be lying if I said it wasn't a little overwhelming, ha ha. Just so everyone knows though; all of the stand-alone orders for the Bilinda Butchers record are out, and most of the 3rd pressing of DSU is too. Still have a few more to power through but I'll be working on that most of this afternoon.
Also, for the person asking about DSU; we still have a couple extra copies of the 2nd pressing left over if you wanna hit me up and work something out. Thanks so mcuh to everyone's that's been purchasing copies of Ontario Gothic too, it's been so exciting to finally have that record out into the world, I'm so happy with how it turned out.
Thanks again for everything, let me know if there's anything else I can do for anyone.

Thanks so much everyone, so happy that everyone's enjoying the record. They just arrived today and I'll begin shipping them out as soon as I get back from tour in a few days
-
If any you are interested at all, my New Album Thing is streaming on Pitchfork, I'd love to hear what you all think! Tour is going so well, gonna be devastated once it'a over but I'm so anxious to get back and start sending out all the Foxes LP preorders. x
-
Nah I should have clarified! Blue are gonna look insane though, super happy and excited about both colourways, I'll post photos once I'm back home
-
I'll see what I can do re the 21+ situation. And I'll post blue pics as soon as I get them, I only grabbed a box of the green while on tour though. Thanks for all the birthday wishes too, having a particularly low and exhausted tour day but it's great reading so many nice messages <3

Here's some photos that someone posted after they purchased one of the Foxes in Fiction records at our show in San Francisco last night! The green didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped it would but seeing how amazing they are when held to light really turned me around about them.
-
Thanks for all the kind words above, I really can't tell you how much I appreciate and mentally depend on reading those kinds of sentiments. Also re: Julia Brown vinyl; maybe. Not really allowed to say any more at this point in time.
Oh, and if any of you are interested at all, I'm doing a little tour for Foxes in Fiction with Owen Pallett right now. We're already a little ways in but you can see all the dates here. I encourage you all to come and have a conversation with me, I've got some great Foxes t-shirts and tapes too
Here's the full schedule: http://i.imgur.com/LGx6Noa.jpg

sucks to hear. I'm afraid the same may happen to orchid tapes eventually, since warren+brian are usually swamped with it.
No plans to allow this to happen. We've got a pretty good system in place right now that allows us to run the label and still live our lives, haha. We've got a few friends who are helping us to take care of order fulfillment / general shit while we're touring or traveling or anything. Just wanna do our best for all of ya

Holy shit signing Mister Lies was such a good idea, I love his work!
Also let me get this straight if I want a signed copy of Ontario Gothic, I just have to ask?
Yeah, just send me an email or make a little note on your order and I'll be sure to sign it =] Also yeah we're super excited about working with Nick, we've been big fans from the beginning and it's a huge blessing to be releasing such an amazing record by him.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we just put up a new song / pre-sale stuff for the new Mister Lies album coming out this fall It's a little left-field of the stuff we usually release but his record is fucking gorgeous and I think it's gonna fit in perfectly with our whole catalog of weirdness.

Also, just to give you guys an update on where we're at with everything (cuz I like y'all!): all of the 1st and 2nd pressing of DSU are out, gonna be having our friend Dexter (who's the drummer of Alex G and really just the best guy around) step in while I'm on tour with Owen Pallett and take care of shipping the 3rd pressing. We should have all the Bilinda Butchers records out before the end of the week, too. Shirts / posters / tapes and all that good stuff (aside from the Foxes ones) will be sent out before next Wednesday too.
Sorry that I haven't gotten back to everyone's email yet, all the shipping stuff and tour prep has really got a lot of my time tied up, promise to have replies out to everyone before I depart though!
Thanks for all the kindness, love, patience and support everybody.

Also grabbed one of the Flow cassettes along with a blue Ontario Gothic. I would love so much for Warren to sign my copy, I know I'm gonna fall in love with the entire album once it's released.
I'd gladly sign it! Just email and let me know all your order info and stuff and I'll make sure that it happens Glad you guys are into the Flow / Exconfusion stuff too, never really too sure how ambient stuff is gonna go over with The Masses but I'm so happy to see how it's been received so far. Also re: earlier posts, we're doing 100 copies of both Flow and Brown Hourse, the latter should be out within the coming weeks.

I just had a pretty fucked up day and need to vent somewhere, so here goes.
<spoiler>
upon arriving at the vet my guinea pig (she not he, named Molly) began to convulse violently, went into cardiac arrest, and despite the vet's best efforts died. This was very unexpected as the respiratory infection I thought she had is very common among guinea pigs, and I honestly thought she'd just get prescribed antibiotics for treatment and she'd get better. A panic attack or two later, I head home, take some more prozac, and of course bury Molly. My parents arrive at home after this, notice I'm visibly sad, then proceed to mention how it's ridiculous I'm worked up over "some rat". I'm berated for a while and told that her death was nothing compared to the death of a child, to which I snap and yell that I wouldn't know because I'll never have kids of my own because I'm gay. yup. totally just came out to my parents with zero planning. I'm headed back to school tomorrow morning, parent's aren't talking to me anymore for the time being and I'm sitting here still in shock.
</spoiler>
edit: idk how the hell to use spoiler tags on here
Oh my god what a terrible day I'm so sorry, I know it won't allieviate the situation in any way but let me know if you want me to send you any overstock of some older cassette releases of ours just let me know, I'll send it all out tomorrow. x

Hey is Meishi Smile's Lust getting another vinyl treatment anytime soon?
I really have no idea, we didn't do the vinyl pressing for that album, and the version of Lust that was put to vinyl was a different, re-recorded version than the one we did on (what I believe was only 30 copies of) cassette tape in 2012. I think it was a Zoom Lens x Attack The Music co-release, no idea what their plans are for more but goddamn that is an amazing album.
