right now. all of those things are happening right now.

no but we'll be doing another pressing of DSU on vinyl and cassette (and some other stuff) soon, we're just working out details with some other ideas and releases before we move ahead with everything. cool ideas on vinyl colour too.

  2. I accidentally ordered 3 orchid tapes thing separately, is there a way to combine them for shipping purposes? I sent you guys a message thorough the online forum.

Yeah definitely, I still have to catalog all the orders that have come in recently but once I do I'll reply to and help you figure everything out.

  3. I mean we'll do more if these end up selling quickly, but yes it was a fiscal thing, as are many decisions we've gotta make when it comes to pressing larger amount of records. 2015 is just gearing up really and we've gotta take things slow / small in a lot of places.

Thanks so much to everyone that's been grabbing copies of these though (and for the feedback), it's amazing to see this kind of enthusiasm over our releases and we'll hopefully be able to do runs of some other sold out things sometime soon. New-new things coming soon too.

  4. The only reason they're that limited is because we did a *big* order but the majority of them are going to the band for tours, and we were in a position to only be able to press so many at the time of ordering, and we could't really wait because they needed in time for their tour. So that's where we're at ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  5. Hey does anyone know what warren's set up was during the Swung from Branches era? I take a lot of inspiration from that era of work and I'm tired of making music with VSTS and I'm looking into getting a sampling keyboard.

So my question is do you know what keyboard he used for that era or his entire setup for that era, also if you have any suggestions that would be great!

There really wasn't that much keyboard used on that album, apart from the song 'Insomnia Keys' (microKORG) or the synth bass notes (Ableton plug-ins) pretty much everything else is just processed guitar. Almost all of the album work was recorded straight into a sampler using just an Epiphone Les Paul, a looping pedal, a distortion pedal and a delay pedal. The predominent effects used are an old pitch-delay plug-in that I used to use and a lot of post-processing using tape and cassette machines.

  6. Hi hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that we're going to be doing a double-LP pressing of our first release Foxes in Fiction's "Swung from The Branches". Pulling out all the stops for this one and making it super special & including a lot of different inserts, you can check it out here if you like:

    http://orchidtapes.bigcartel.com/product/foxes-in-fiction-swung-from-the-branches-2x12

And of course you can download the album for free here :)https://orchidtapes.bandcamp.com/album/swung-from-the-branches

All orders are gonna come with-

    • a double-12” gatefold record with pink & yellow marbled vinyl

    • a small amount of a custom perfume made specifically for this release, sprayed on the cover of each jacket

    • a home-printed risograph poster

    • an 11” x 11” insert with track-by-track explanations that were posted online at the same time as the original release

    • a home-printed booklet of lyrics and photos that accompanied the original cassette release

    • a hand-pressed 1.5” pin

    • a logo-stamped tea bag

    • guava candy

    • Foxes in Fiction & Orchid Tapes stickers

    • a hand-written thank-you note

    Thanks so much everyone xo

  7. Cool to see everyone's getting their records, I spent the last two days I had before tour packaging 350+ orders and am feeling like a superhero about it. Sorry that some people are upset with the vinyl being packaged outside of the jackets / between the sleeves and the innersleeves, I only started doing that because so many older shipments got damaged previous with records included inside, I'll definitely listen to anyone's ideas or recommendations about doing this in a different / better way (only if you're nice though ;))

Gonna be getting back into the saddles with everything as soon as the holidays are over, all the final details for the 2x12" Swung from The Branches reissue have been finalized and it's gonna look fucking awesome. Tour is pretty insane and physically / mentally demanding at this particular instance so I'm sorry I haven't posted updates here in a bit or been quick with emails. I'm having fun and feel really happy right now and it is great.

    Thanks for the support, everyone.

  8. My guess is OT will be smooth again once Foxes in Fiction settles from tour. Truth be told I've only been ordering since they started pressing vinyl with the Ricky Eat Acid release and it's only been during tour I've ever had trouble getting records in

Pretty much this. I've been on the road more often than not over the past couple of months and it's truthfully been really hard to balance both traveling for Foxes in Fiction and all the handiwork / shipping associated with Orchid Tapes. Usually we can handle all this stuff fine, but yeah. I'm working to get all the remaining orders out (save for Mister Lies cassettes, something fucked up majorly with them) over the next few days though.

Sorry things are so unpredictable and unorthodoxed at the moment, it's been making me feel like a crazy person with an out of control life. I'll get back to everyone's emails and resolve all existing issues that are ongoing in time. Definitely going to be thinking to make some changes to the way things are structured soon so that we don't run into this issue again, it's no more fun for us than it is for anyone waiting for orders. Thanks for the love and support everyone.

  9. Went to see Foxes in Fiction and Mister Lies in Toronto last night. Great show! Owen Pallett played violin with Foxes, and that was pretty neat...for a guy who plays shows with Arcade Fire in front of 20,000 (or even 500 on his own), it was kind of cool to see him play on a much smaller scale. Warren was genuinely excited to play in front of the crowd - I love when musicians show that kind of passion.  I picked up Ontario Gothic on vinyl(I'm still waiting for a copy via mail, but I plan to give that copy to my friend when I do get it!).

Mister Lies was kind of cool. A little bit dark for me, but there were some really really good songs - especially the vocal tracks - one of them, I think called Pill from the new album, is totally stellar.

Thanks for coming by, glad that you enjoyed the show. Definitely my favourite show that I've ever had in Toronto.

  10. Not going to lie! Feeling a bit bummed, looks like we'd be lucky to get the Foxes in Fiction music early December post tour since that ends Nov. 16th...

Hopefully you battle past the depression demons and have a healthy tour!

Thanks so much. I am usually able to keep things under control and saparate Work Stuff but all of October has kind of fucked me up, it's no good. I have a night off tour tonight back in NY so I'm just gonna try and package as many things that I can, hopefully I can get through a good amount of everything and send out to you guys, I feel bad about things taking this long.
