Rad noise rock, rad packaging: http://jackbuck.bandcamp.com/album/ugly and http://jackbuck.bandcamp.com/album/soft
How the hell have I not bought this yet? I have seen the 7" for years and always forget about it. Packaging looks amazing and the music is right down my alley these days. Going to pick up both soon.

Your collection is already better than 95% of people's here. Built to Spill, Slint, Godpseed, Unwound, Swans, Big Black, etc...That's some desert island shit. I like you. And no copy of In The Aeroplane to be seen.
-
Nice, Bedhead live LP. I will just pick it up directly from them and save myself the hassle of standing in line.
-
Woah, this is good.
-
In for cassette.
Same! The mockup looks great.

May be time for me to expand off of No Energy, finally. Thanks for the heads up.
You can still get them for around the same on Amazon. I just got Kid Is Gone for $34 shipped.
So I was just looking for any info on the final set yesterday but came up empty handed, only to see this thread bumped today. Of course me dreams were crushed when I opened the thread, but i guess i'm happy if more people get into this band.
Same but worthy bump nonetheless.

Oh, man. Imma tease you guys and tell you that I'm midway through the album and it really is killer.
We were expecting no less but still, completely mindshattering.
Good bump.

Anything in particular? I've been doing saga, east of west, and sex criminals lately.
I collect TPBs and some manga mostly. I've been buying the Saga TPBs as they come out but thinking about switching to single issues because waiting six months to read more is killing me. I've also been buying the Sandman Overture single issues plus the special edition black and white ones as they come out.

I laughed at that Brocella poster a few days ago until I got to the parts that blatantly make women uncomfortable for the sake of humor.
Why we gotta trash talk Kesha?
Because bros don't make women uncomfortable for sick reasons.

Built to Spill
Boris
Mogwai
Converge
Swans

Good stuff. Coincidentally just listened to those Chelsea Wolfe, Jesus Lizard and Godflesh albums yesterday.
-
Lots of Von dislike on here, Hun Joro is one of their best songs in my opinion.
-
That Botch box set seems unnecessary...
I would hope they would be pressing some of those demos from the deluxe We Are The Romans CD.
-
I'm too lazy to start a new thread. Here's what they have planned next. A few are already known. I'm stoked for the Khanate and Harvey Milk releases.
Botch - vinyl box set,
Cave In - White Silence LP repress,
Harvey Milk - Life... The Best Game In Town 2xLP repress
Khanate - Things Viral 3xLP,
Old Man Gloom - Seminars I-III,
Awesome, I'm going to buy those all.

Tara Jane O'Neil's newest on Kranky is great but no piano.
-
Fuck!!!! Missed the black/white because of work too.
-
Dang, hope the /100 comes back up at some point. At work and just missed it.
-
I know what is more played out...the complaining about about complaining.
-
Mmmmm wouldn't mind a Built to Spill release for the 3rd year in a row. Excited to see what we'll get this year.
I'm hoping for the opposite. I want to sit out this year.
-
I consider "indie-rock" as more of a general sound than what label they're signed too.
Yeah, that's the biggest problem with the label indie.
-
I do data entry and am able to use headphones at work all day, but I usually find myself listening to stuff like Botch, Converge and Julia. Lots of These Arms Are Snakes lately too. I listened to a lot of instrumental stuff at first but the louder stuff helps me block out annoying noises on my office floor a bit better and I pay too much attention to instrumental music while working.
-
Yeah, it's more just personal taste and not that I think they are bad or anything. Just something about it that didn't do it for me and didn't have me coming back. I feel like the past couple Matt Cooper releases are like that for me though. To each his own. I think that anyone expecting something that resembles EITS or Eluvium would probably walk away disappointed; not that this was necessarily the case for you, but I found that it worked best to put on with no real expectations. Outside of beatiful soundscapes, that is.
Either way, not trying to derail too much. The new song sounds good.

The s/t was easily the biggest disappointment of last year for me (don't shoot me for that) but I am willing to give this one a try.

Sorry, should have clarified that I mostly meant defining in the sense that when I think of kick ass bands from that era, they are up at the top for me. My fault. I understand how their popularity has risen more over the years but still thought I would toss their name out there. Can were more like definitive to shaping music after their time. Such a crucial band.
I love Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath too, but for the sake of the discussion at hand, Led Zeppelin > Black Sabbath eternally.
