I think you'll be very happy!

I am really pleased with the 3050's, nice bottom end, crisp and clear mids and highs. I tested the 3050i's as well, but they were a bit out of my budget (65% more expensive); to my ears the bass sounded a better on the 3050i's - mids and highs about the same. The only place I have found my 3050's to be a little lacking is on some jazz recordings around the double bass - but that may be more to do with the recording/mastering/pressing quality than the speakers because hip hop, rock and metal all sounds good with plenty of punchy bass.

Make sure you give them a bit of distance from the wall to breathe.

    Enjoy!

I have them out about 10.5 inches from the wall. That should be good right? Q Acoustics recommends 200mm.

Picked up a set of Q Acoustics 3050's today. Very happy with the upgrade from my KEF Q100's (which I thought were great for bookshelf speakers).

Came here to post that I have the 3050i arriving tomorrow! And you don't see too many QA yet since they're a newer company... Anyway I'm pretty amped. What do you think of the sound so far? I wasn't able to go audition a pair as there aren't any dealers near me. Just went by all the positive reviews and awards they've won. Ordered the white version.

Also have an Onkyo TX-8270 on the way. Should be a decent upgrade to my AMC 3050a (similar to NAD) with a bunch of modern features. Looking forward to streaming Spotify and FLAC from my desktop PC with convenience. Has chromecast abilities built in and supposedly it has a pretty good 384kHz / 32-bit DAC.

Otherwise I did pick up my current TT, a ProJect Perspective, a couple months ago and have been loving it.

  3. You may also want to check the height of your tonearm.. not sure if it's adjustable on the LP120 but you want the tonearm to be horizontal to the platter when lowered/playing an album.

I'd recommend a mirrored alignment protractor ($10-ish on amazon) . Ensure your cartridge lines up with the grid in both A and B positions. Distortion towards the inside of the record is called inner groove distortion and the LP120 should be able to track without that happening.

Not sure if they're the same pressings as above, but they're also available on Bullmoose as well

Thanks! Ordered TPOF as they sold out quickly at the St Paul show... I'd be surprised if this is for real though, with only 1000 pressed.. And BM is cheaper than they were at the merch table ($30). Yet BM hasn't failed me before, so fingers crossed.

  5. Prices include shipping to USA. Willing to do deals on multiple! All priced below discogs.

  6. Found my S/T in Kansas City a few years ago for $20 still sealed. Almost needed a change of pants after that. It's a great sounding pressing. Paid $60 for my blue vinyl BSL 3 years ago from ebay, and was lucky to grab the reissue on RSD.

I talked to Rob & Zach after some shows in Chicago last year, about reissues. They said the owner of Ace Fu is a jackass and won't do a pressing of anything unless he'll profit immediately like RSD releases. So don't expect another run of S/T or BSL for a while I guess.

  7. Just a few things I haven't found myself spinning much. Prices include shipping.

Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn RSD - Mint - $28 - SOLD

    Arcade Fire S/T RSD - Mint - $30 - SOLD

    The Starting Line - SILYMI - Blue & Green /750 - Mint - $30

Note: pressing is lightly crackly throughout. Only really noticeable during quiet segments, the songs sound good. It came like this, and I've run it through the spin-clean and it's the same.

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood To The Head - white limited B&N pressing - Mint - $30

    Weezer - Blue Album - blue vinyl - Mint - $30

  8. Got my eyes on a new guitar and I can let this bad boy go for $150 shipped. Mint all around and includes the green lyrics/credits sheets.
