I know this is a dumb question, but do you think it would right to assume that these would be for sale at the MoMA?
I'm basing their availability off of this image. I could be completely wrong though.
Well...seeing as that's a photo in a gift shop at MoMA...
The other person posting about it said that shop was just closed when he was there.

I thoroughly enjoy the pain of a tattoo.
Mouth pain, not so much.
i also back this statement, the best part for me, is getting wiped with the green soap...gives me goosebumps, love it.
Hate mouth pain. gotta say after about 3.5 hours I'm pretty done with tattoo pain too. I think I went into a little bit of shock last time I got tattooed around hour 4. Got really cold.

I end up just looking through my tradelist to browse what I want to listen to. I hate getting down and tilting my head to try and read spines.
I feel that. I arranged mine into genre sections with my least listened genres on the bottom row at least, so unless I'm really feeling like classic rock I usually just have to look at my top row. I really just need to buy a house and get a better room going. The room that is my record room currently is an odd little room.

LOL. Obvious photoshop mockup is obvious.
I was thinking the exact same thing...

I made this one sort of on a whim out of an existing storage box I found on Craig's List. I wasn't sure it wouldn't tip over when the top drawer was fully extended. (it doesn't).
I have a design in my head for another one with double row drawers maybe 3-4 tiers high.
If you build that I'd definitely like to see it!

Obvious solution.
Ah! If only I could pare down the collection enough to make that feasible. :/
I do plan on building something when I move into a permanent house rather than an apartment, though.

The tracks with different names are songs that didn't make the album.
Edit: and the others are demo/acoustic versions of the album tracks.
Nice!!
I really love the stripped-down Tim stuff. It reminds me of seeing him play solo acoustic in college. There are a couple of his sets that were passed around here like 20 years ago, dubbed from cassette to cassette. Songs that didn't end up anywhere else.
Maybe those will get converted to MP3 and leaked at some point....
Even better

It's always really interesting to see how people who have been listening to a band feel differently than people who are new to them. My friend was obsessed with Shrines and when this new one came out he suggested I listen to them. So I listened to both Shrines and Another Eternity for the first time on the same day, back to back.... and I think Another Eternity is way better. It's weird to see so many bad reviews. I'm picking up that clear variant for sure.
I'm still giving this one some spins...it's definitely not like Shrines though. Like Eric, I listened to Shrines for about 3 weeks straight, non-stop.

I'm currently in a "bin" set up which I love for digging through records, but it takes up SO much space. I keep almost moving to an Expedit/spine set up instead but I just can't bring myself to do it.
I'm in the opposite situation. I've the to Expedit system going...but I keep thinking about switching back to bins. I miss being able to just flip through to decide what I want to listen to rather than plopping down in front of that damn thing and squinting to see all the titles. Never change!

I'm guessing the Novena On A Nocturn demos are just acoustic variations of the record like AOTY is?
Novena demos actually look to have a different track listing. Don't know if they're really different songs, or the same songs by different names...but I'm intrigued now.
Novena:
Track List:
1. A Dim Entrance
2. The Moon Red Handed
3. Your Birthday Present
4. An Aquaintance Strikes a Chord
5. Twenty Two
6. What We Fall for When We're Already Down
7. Waiting on Wild Horses
8. The Competition
9. A Golden Exit
Novena Demos:
Track List:
1. A Dim Entrance
2. In Our Shoeboxes and Jewelry Boxes
3. High Noon
4. Morning Funerals
5. The Moon Red Handed
6. Rainchecks
7. The Thin Walls Between Us
8. Temptations of Dusk
9. A Golden Exit
It'd be nice if they turned out to be b-sides that didn't make the album

Happy birthday, Egg!

You can't rest assured they are not pressing 50k for rsd
So...they are then?

Woah. How did you get banned the first time?
Easy tiger. I was joking around. I mean, really you could just give them to him without mentioning getting anything in return. I digress.
Flipping downloads is funny because it's ridiculous. And Dan missed it. Sorry dan. I mean, we can go into the economics of the cost of a record to determine a fair price for complimentary downloads that accompany the record you just bought, but THAT WOULD BE SILLY. Leave your angst in the brand new thread and laugh a little.
I made a clone stl_ben account...
There's no angst here, I just don't think you made things seem ridiculous enough to come across as a joke...especially seeing as neither Dan, myself, nor the next person who gave me shit about it got the joke.
Because it came across serious to me I took offense, but no hard feelings. I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't trying to sell anything, dude gets the downloads if he remembers to remind me whether I get anything for it or not.
As a side note, it's been really interesting to see the difference between how a user with 8,000+ posts and a user with however many this account has get treated.
-
So...anybody else in here blow a bajillion bucks on those The Good Life records? Cuz...Boy am I stoked!
-
Note to self: re-up someone's suspension.

Are you flipping downloads? This board just hit an all new low.
How about you send those couple of bucks to orders (at) saddle-creek.com via PayPal instead? Or just mail the cash directly to:
Saddle Creek

PO Box 8554
Omaha, NE 68108-0554
Do you not know how to read? I said if he wants to toss me a couple bucks, that's cool, but if not I'll still give him the download codes. What the fuck is wrong with you idiots? Like Dan said, I'm paying for both the download and the LP, but probably won't use the downloads rather than have them not get used at all, I'll give them to that dude.
IF the dude wants to offset my cost, that's rad, if not, no skin off my back, he can still have the codes because I won't be using them.
Maybe that fella doesn't want to order the LPs for whatever reason, but still wants the download for the demos.

ha! so it was aliens beaming UP a bigfoot...but dude i like the down even better!
Dig it! I thought it looked like sasquatch! I'm a big fan of the squatch, so anyone who gets a tattoo with one is cool in my book.

Neither album has arrived for me...have you had any luck?
Didn't arrive. Got back in contact with them and they said they'd send out a replacement...gave me an estimated date of delivery of MARCH 25. I kindly asked them to expedite my shipping, as I'd already been waiting quite some time and got a new date of March 9. This person was much more helpful and accommodating than the last one.

It's not a "BS social media related promo company"
T...Tom? Is that you?
-
Shoot me a pm on release day on my real account(it'll be unbanned by then: garbage golem) and I'll give you my downloads of the demos if you don't order them.^Thanks
If you wanna toss a couple bucks my way, cool. If not, whatevs.

Update: My copy of ( ) did finally arrive yesterday late in the day. Pretty gnarly corner ding on the bottom right.
Since they've already sent out a replacement, as amazon and I both assumed the other one was lost in the mail...I'll see how the next one looks/sounds when it gets here. Some noise on side C of this copy, not unbearable though.
The new one actually has tracking, too. Left Philly today.
