  1. is it only good for Nashville area though? My city has something completely different for today's deal.

It says it is good at 19 locations (click the "view 17 more locations" under the "Locations" tab) and online... so if a nearby location isn't listed, you could use it on the website.

  2. ^ If you had your problem taken care of you should take the number down. FYI Brooklyn area codes are 718, 917, 646, and 347. Not 210.

My problem hasn't been taken care of yet. Just sent him an email to see if he's still willing to fulfill his promise. Waiting for a response / record. Thanks for your input though.

  3. Just saw this... sending you an email right now RJ.

And for the record, I obtained the phone number from searching the "Who is" of the Academy Fight Song website domain. This information is "open domain" to the public, and I assumed the number was likely a business number and not a cell phone number.

Sorry for posting it... however, after feeling ignored for so long, it seemed like the only thing left to do.

  4. Has anyone else had a bad experience with Academy Fight Song? I've had an awful time with them since purchasing Copeland - In Motion. Here's the deal:

I purchased Copeland - In Motion (Brown) on November 18th.

I received a warped copy of the record on February 8th.

After trying to get ahold of RJ for three weeks, he finally responds on February 28th after I post on here about receiving a warped record and no response. His response email said that he'd send me a replacement record.

On March 11th, I emailed RJ asking if the record had shipped - with no response.

On March 23rd, I emailed RJ again asking if the record had shipped - no response.

It's now March 25th, and all I have is a warped record that wont play.

  5. I ordered two copies of Copeland - In Motion (brown & coke bottle clear), and the brown copy is extremely warped. I put it on the turntable to see what it'd do, and it sends my needle jumping.

I wrote RJ and received no response. I'm a bit disappointed with this label - they've put out some good records, but every time I order from them, my records arrive in poor shape and they wont return my emails to even try to make things right.

  6. Does anyone have the new Third Man Records colored releases? I'll buy / trade for them. I'm looking for these:

Black Belles - What Can I Do

Wanda Jackson - You Know I'm No Good

There's a signed copy of Wanda Jackson's record on Ebay, but it's a bit more than I can afford! :( (http://cgi.ebay.com/Wanda-Jackson-You-Know-Im-No-Good-Third-Man-Records_W0QQitemZ150409130671QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item23051532af#ht_500wt_1034)

  7. I'm listening right now for the first time to the 180 gram black press. Right off the bat, "Brightest" seemed a bit fast to me and the pitch seemed higher because of it. I know that the song is in the key of G, so I pitched it up with a tuner to make sure that my ears aren't crazy and it was indeed sharp. I then decided to try and match it up with my CD copy and had to slow down the vinyl considerable to get the pitch and speed right. To make sure that it isn't my turntable, I threw another record on and had no problems. Here's a picture of where I had to have it set to sound right:
