Pre-Orders just went up on Amazon for these with 2/26 release dates:
Experimental Jet Set Trash & No Star

A Pre-Order for Beauty Behind The Madness is now live on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1GJPWDT

25% off all vinyl purchases at Newbury Comics stores this weekend.
Is this online too? Promo code?

This album was a major grower for me for some reason. Hated it on listen 1, tolerated it on listen 2, loved it by listen 3....
I agree with this.

It's likely he doesn't know what copy he's ordering but he's been adamant about it.
How did the rare white version of Depression Cherry work? That was never available via preorder... record shops that were on the Sub Pop list received a copy each? Don't recall.
I believe that the white (US) version of DC was given to indie stores as a promo / giveaway item only. I don't think that it was meant to be sold. I would guess that if record stores received a glitter copy of TYLS, it would likely be the same sort of deal.
-
Record store owner by me sent a message saying he was able to place an order request specifically for the glitter variant. Having a hard time believing it. We shall see.
I think if this was true, we would see pre-orders for this variant from the indie stores that have an online store.

I doubt they'll be selling it outside the Baltimore show
Maybe a few online but I doubt it
Shows, plural...

Sucks that I saw Beach House a week ago and barely missed an opportunity to get the glitter version.......
Anyone on the forum going to see them soon?
-
I emailed a local shop to see if they were getting it in. They said right now it's a Sub Pop Exclusive so it will be a couple weeks before they get leftovers in. Just an FYI for anyone holding out for picking it up locally.
Amazon put up a pre-order for the CD with a release date of 10/30... wondering if the LP will get a similar release date outside of Sub Pop.

I started a separate thread for Thank Your Lucky Stars: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/116336-beach-house-thank-your-lucky-stars-1016/

Per Pitchfork:
"Beach House's most recent album, Depression Cherry, was released in August. However, the band has just announced Thank Your Lucky Stars, another full-length LP due October 16.
"We are very excited, it's an album being released the way we want," the band wrote on Twitter. "It's not a companion to Depression Cherry or a surprise or b-sides." (We beg to differ: It very much IS a surprise.)"
Per Beach House's FB:
"It was recorded at the same time as Depression Cherry, but for us, it's very much a different record. All of its songs were written after the DC songs. Along the way we realized that we didn't want it to be released in the traditional manner. Mainly, we just wanted our listeners to hear it first."

Since this is coming out on Joyful Noise, I wonder if pre-order will be through them.
Also I think this will be around at least for a little bit. I think there are 300 colored sets.
From their FB: "For those asking, the thing will be up on Margotandthenuclearsoandsos.com as well as Joyful Noise's site. You can also check this Facebook or our Twitter, as we'll have links up here and there, as well."

I reported a lower price to Amazon (Best Buy), and they price matched. It is now $23.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012HOEOPS/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B012HOEOPS&linkCode=as2&tag=theoffici075f-20&linkId=E4D7KBXB4AZE5MYA

I'm really stoked that this is receiving a vinyl release and haven't seen it posted here yet. This duo from south-east London, issued a track each month for a year on SoundCloud, and are now putting the dozen together for an album to be released on 9/4. The songs are great if you haven't heard them.

Was going to pick up from Best Buy, but then realized that Amazon has it for $8.99 as well, with free Prime shipping to arrive on release date: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZIAO80K/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00ZIAO80K&linkCode=as2&tag=theoffici075f-20&linkId=L3UBSSPM5DOEYWAK

Looks like Thursday is now up on Amazon for $23.99...just picked it up since my local shops dropped the ball on this one.
-
I received mine a couple days ago and both LP's were warped to hell.
Side A/B was playable (barely). Side C/D was unplayable. Needle looked like it was about to fly off every half turn. It did jump a couple of times.
The place I got it from is sending me a new one "when they come back into stock". Anyone else have bad warping issues with this release?
I picked mine up locally and it plays alright without any problems.
I was surprised how hard this was to track down - a lot of my usual local shops didn't get it and I was shocked to see it sold out on Amazon so quickly.
-
Are these limited? Amazon has been sold out since release day and the third party price has been creeping up since: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011IOGYL0

Has anyone received their copy yet? If so, how does it sound?

My bad - Nothing seems to show up when searching 'Son Lux' for some reason.
-
I'm very excited for this album and haven't seen it posted anywhere on here - figured I'd share. From NPR:
"Son Lux, the brain child of beat wizard Ryan Lott, is back as an official trio, with a new album and a new song. The album is called Bones and was co-written and recorded by Lott with drummer Ian Chang and guitarist Rafiq Bhatia.
The first single from the album, "Change Is Everything," is vintage Son Lux, with a startling mix of chopped up rhythms and sonic curiosities set against lyrics that are both grand and minimal.
Bones is due out June 23 on Glassnote Records. That's the artwork below."
PRE-ORDER: Amazon - $17.98

I agree that Big Sean has some room for growth lyrically, but he's young, his delivery is good, and I feel like this is a monumental hip hop album from a production standpoint.

A lot of times Amazon starts the price high when they make a new listing, then discount it as they go. I imagine that'll be the case here.
