    From NPR:

"The songs of Elliot Smith are widely revered — especially by those who came of age in the '90s — but a new generation of listeners is only beginning to discover him. Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith is likely to expose new fans to the great singer-songwriter. Smith released five albums in his lifetime and died in 2003 from two stab wounds to the chest; he'd left a suicide note. His songs, which often dealt with depression and desperation, were beautiful and frequently quiet.

This album, by Jessica Lea Mayfield and The Avett Brothers' Seth Avett, was made over a four-year period with great love for the man and his songs. The production is lean, the harmonies are beautiful, and the words and melodies are kept at the center of all 12 songs."

    J. Cole's third studio album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive was released on December 9, 2014, after being announced only three weeks prior.  The album had very little marketing, with no singles or promotion taking place prior to its release.  The album debuted at number one on Billboard 200, selling 371,000 copies in its first week of release and has since been certified Gold.  A vinyl pre-order is now live on Amazon with a release date of February March 17, 2015.

  4. Looks like I'm heading to Ryman Auditorium. Hope the wife won't mind making a 12 1/2 hour car ride with me  :D

Anyone been before? I'm Row L (Center Balcony) - I know I'm pretty high up, but how big does it feel in the Auditorium? Won't be needing binoculars will I  ?

The Ryman is wide and shallow, so there really aren't any bad seats and binoculars aren't necessary at all... especially where your seats are.  Honestly, the center balcony is my favorite place to sit - The view is clear and it is right upfront of the soundboard so the sound is great as well.

I managed to snag two singles in the pre-sale, but hoping to get seats together during the regular sale... we'll see.

  5. I'm no expert when it comes to turntables, but I'm in the market for one in that price range. Can anyone weigh in on this? Is it worth the price or is it a lot of markup due to the fact it's Jack White/TMR branded?

That's a pretty standard price for that model.  You can read specs & reviews on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009453HRU/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B009453HRU&linkCode=as2&tag=theoffici075f-20&linkId=G5MINATOYL53UZG4
