I definitely appreciate the newer stuff, but the first four albums is where it’s at for me. I remember being really impressed with Diamond Eyes when it came out though.

I'm with you on this one. Maybe just because of the nostalgia, but my favorites are ATF and Adrenaline. I appreciate all of their music in some way or another, but when I think of Deftones I think of the ATF album first.

Not as lucky here unfortunately. Got it today-saw the cardboard mailer with a folded corner and knew I was going to be disappointed. Lower right corner of the jacket has a nasty crease and the vinyl has an audible warp off and on through the first side. I've reached out to the distro and hopefully they will help out!

I've never seen such a cheap flimsy mailer before. I can't believe mine had no damage. Hope they can help you. A friend of mine got in on this Kickstarter and he said his is part of a 2nd pressing? Or atleast that's how he worded it? Maybe they are still pressing these and can make it right.

  3. I got my copy over the weekend, no shipping notice or anything, just showed up. Surprisingly it was in perfect condition, even with the flimsy cardboard mailer. As others have said the package is super flimsy, almost feels like the jacket would blow away in a breeze. Still somehow, no dents, dings, or creases (which amazes me), and the record itself is awesome. Looks great and sounds great. For those who are wondering about leftovers or future presses here is an excerpt from my most recent email from Kickstarter.

I missed the Kickstarter, can I buy an album? OR Can I purchase extra albums?

Bummer. If we have any Kickstarter copies left over after fulfilling orders, we will make them available to purchase, sign up for email at presidentsrock.com to keep in the loop on that.

If there are no leftovers, fear not, a plain black version of the album will be available to purchase in the fall via your favorite local record store. Let your local record shop know you want them to reserve you a copy and that they can order from Burnside Distro. NOTE! Burnside is not going to take direct-to-fan orders; you need to get the record through a shop. Support your local record store! Please! They need you! Just call them up and tell them what you want, and we're sure they'll be happy to help make it happen!

  4. There are a  bunch of old Roadrunner releases I'd like to see as well. Maybe something like Fear Factory : Demanufacture /Digimortal or Spineshank : The Height of Callousness/Self Destructive Pattern. Roadrunner Records is where I really started listening to metal. Fear Factory, Machinehead, Soulfly, Spineshank, Coal Chamber were some of my favorites back in the day and still find their way into my rotation. MoV has pressed some of them recently, like Fear Factory : Obsolete and Spineshank : Strictly Diesel. I'd love to see someone press October Rust or The More Things Change like others mentioned. In the meantime I voted for Killswitch and pre ordered Burn My Eyes. World Coming Down was my first ROG purchase, and it was an awesome release, looking forward to Burn My Eyes next and crossing my fingers Killswitch gets the next spot.

So they are super collectable now? Now I wish I didn't just stick them on my recycling bin.

Not sure if they are or not. He has a friend who's nickname is "Mondo". He saw the sticker I stuck on my water bottle and asked if I had any left.

  6. Does anyone have any unused Mondo promo stickers they would be willing to sell? Of all the Mondo releases I've bought I only got one sticker!? I have a friend who saw mine stuck on my water bottle at work and asked where I got it. Haven't really seen them for sale anywhere so I figured I'd ask around. Not picky on which sticker, just has to have the word Mondo on it.

on the bright side you could always just buy what you want on ebay.

I know what you mean. Between Discogs and Ebay I have gotten past releases after RSD was over. But I have enjoyed the "holiday" type feel of participating in RSD. I know the crowds and lines can be annoying, It's also a bummer some releases get sold out quickly. Personally I try not to get too uptight about what I may or may not be able to acquire from my want list that day. I just think it's a fun day to be out there with other enthusiasts visiting your local record stores. There's usually special events going on like live music, giveaways, and sales on non RSD releases or used records. You meet interesting new people, and catch up with old friends you may have not talked to for some time. I guess I just get really into the spirit of it all.

Just FYI, I was in Chicago a few years back for C2E2 during RSD.  I took an uber up to Reckless Records on Madison on the saturday morning and then back in time for the convention.  Line wasn't bad and they had a good selection.  Probably like a $6 uber each way.

Thanks for that info...hmmmmm.....now I am going to have to look at my budget even closer. I've skipped out on the last couple of C2E2's but that is also one of my favorite cons. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out Star Wars Celebration was going to be held  at McCormick in 2019, so I immediately booked a room there before the hotel blocks even came out.
