  1. Definitely waiting to buy after this kickstarter campaign, though I feel bad for all those putting money in this and they get the least rare variant. Also weird that you out of the 200 rare variant, only 8 have been claimed by "subscribers" paying $160+. Does he expect 192 more people to pony up that amount of cash just to get the rare color since he's claiming that's the only way to get it. Again, I really feel bad for those who are supporting this type of campaign and the "rewards" for doing so.
  2. Would back greatly if I could get the rarest color without the subscription crap. I can't even buy the /300 colors without buying the out /500. Give me the option of paying $25 for the rare one and you've got a deal. And I personally don't think they can sell 1000 of each of these albums, especially Why We Fight. I even think they would have a tough time selling 1000 of Volcano.
  3. Interpunk if I can't get stuff directly from the band/label. I don't see why more bands/labels don't just ship stuff out themselves for LPs. Aren't you just giving distros and online stores a cut just so you don't have to do the packaging and labeling?
  4. Are you thinking that you are now not saving the gold (or any other variant) for Interpunk unless you don't sell them all yourself and you work out a deal later?
  5. Bought this from Kiss of Death a couple weeks back after I purchased from District Lines and they said 2 weeks after I purchased that they would be out of stock for a few more weeks.
  6. My wife and I went to Couples Swept Away in Jamaica for our honeymoon. Couples is a couples only all-inclusive chain similar to Sandals, but with only 4 resorts in Jamaica only. I looked at the comparisons between the two and most people recommended Couples over Sandals. The main thing I noted between the two in the reviews was that couples didn't require wristbands and didn't discriminate against its guests based on the type of room booked. There is no butler service and the rooms aren't as fancy, but it also a little less expensive. The customer service was top notch, however. Every guest was treated pretty much like royalty. We also looked at a few other places and I read lots of reviews for Caribbean places. We nixed the Bahamas due to its lack of all inclusives, and we didn't pick Mexico because most reviewers claimed it's all inclusive simply weren't up to the standards of Jamaica's all inclusives. Whatever you pick, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Remember, your honeymoon doesn't have to be right after the wedding either. We waited a few months after our wedding to avoid the hurricanes. It was nice to have a a getaway a few months later, something to look forward to. It was nice not to worry about travel right after the wedding too and we just enjoyed the company of each other the few days after the wedding and before going back to work.
  7. Would buy em all, especially s/t. Production wise, volcano would translate the best to vinyl.
  8. Glad to see online stores will be offering some of these. I know it goes against the whole physical retail store and trying to save those, but I really do prefer online for most of my record shopping. Here's hoping the steel train 7" pops up online somewhere. Would save me a trip throughout the city trying to hunt it down.
  9. I love the nerdier sizes feature, though the large picture is really really large. I want to see some of those digital releases to come out on vinyl. The foundation ep is really great.
  10. Picked up the fun lp and hopefully canceling order through district lines. Thanks for putting them up. I see i snatched up the last one. It's been 14 days since I ordered and it's been on back order for 13 days and they've yet to contact me about when or if it will be back in stock. I should have no problem canceling right?
  11. Would love to see pressing info for all of these, especially fun.'s Aim & Ignite. Does anybody out there have this? I'm pretty sure it was pressed and released as a pre-order bundle. I tried to buy it from there online store (district lines) last week and it is now sold out and it seems my order is in limbo. It went for $40 on ebay a little while ago, and it was available for $12 last week through district lines. All the other online retailers, amazon, best buy, etc. still have it for pre-order (though that went up early last fall).
  12. Just to clear up some confusion. Streams from tsn.ca and ctv.ca will only work if your ip address is from canada. You wil be blocked otherwise. In the US, you can sign up to watch stuff from NBC's networks (NBC, USA, MSNBC, CNBC, Universal) which will probably show most of everything you want to see. The catch to this however is you must provide your login to either your cable or satellite provider's online account, who will then verify you are a customer that pays for those channels already. Myself, I don't pay for those, but am using my parents account to login and enjoy pretty much everything those networks will televise (including the USA vs Canada Round Robin game which is probably on one of the cable channels). Oh and the only snow that is missing in Vancouver that is necessary is at the moguls/halfpipe facility which is closer to Vancouver. It will be strange to not see snow in Vancouver itself at the village, medal area, around the arenas etc.
  13. Great choice. Burn in on plasmas is a thing of the past keep in mind. So no need to worry about that. Make sure you do your research before sitting down and watching your tv though. You'll want to age it/break it in (either rapidly with a color slide show or over time at low brightness) which helps immensely with image retention and allows each pixel to adapt to colors evenly.
  14. Plasmas, at least the new Panasonic ones (Panasonic being the new leader is Plasma since Pioneer got out) have an anti-glare screen that helps reduce glare in bright rooms. I'm not sure if LCDs these says have the same sort of screen technology, but LCDs are generally brighter and these will also help reduce glare by simply turning up the brightness. I agree that I like the colors in a plasma more than an lcd, but regardless either should be calibrated correctly. You can try to look at avsforum.com for suggestions on that once you buy your tv. As for refresh rate, most plasmas these days are 480 hz, while LCDs are usually 120-240 Hz (I don't know if this is an apples to apples kind of thing though). I've noticed no motion blur during football, basketball, or hockey, nor in fast paced sports or action video games with my plasma (Panasonic p42x1 - 2009 entry level model). I would go with plasma for the richer colors if you are not in a very very bright room (3 walls of windows). You might be able to save a few dollars a month on your electric bill with an LCD though. You'd be able to save more with an LED but I think that's out of your price range.
