It all depends on the individual pressing and your setup.

But generally speaking. Of course when it gets down to individual releases and setup it's going to vary, but I was speaking in terms of just broad categories.

Yeah, Blu-Spec, SHM-CD, I've tried them all and I don't think they improve audio quality.

Ok, so then how would people rate a PD with other other formats?

For example,

1.Vinyl

2.Picture Disc

3.Blu-Spec 2 CD

3.CD

From the sounds of it, I'm not sure I would want to buy one and would probably just opt for a high quality CD version.

Sorry if this is a repost. I tried looking for a picture disc thread and it's really hard to sift through sales posts and news.

First question, are they called picture discs or records?

Second, are they worth paying for? I'm looking into buying a few albums on vinyl, but the only options that are available are a picture disc or a bootleg (in this case it's System of A Down - Mezmerize).

My concerns are audio quality and durability. I've heard they have inferior audio quality and that the designs can sometimes "crack". Novelty aside, I would also like to enjoy my records so if these 2 issues are expected, I'm not sure I want to invest in a picture disc release.

Okay, so flipping records and all the other stuff aside, what can people say about the audio quality of ETR records?

As a fan of the show, I'm really interested in the Spongebob record but now I'm a bit skeptical.

From reading earlier posts, there seem to be many more repress shops. I know this isn't really on topic, but can anyone respond with a list of shops worth checking out?

I did check their feedback on the sell/trade feedback and they have 100% positive feedback with their last transaction being in mid-December 2015.

Yes, same experience as everyone else. Thankfully, after opening a paypal claim my money was refunded to me. A shame though, I really wanted that record (tycho - awake (Beige)).

For retail pricing? I'd just keep your eye on Discogs and eBay. One sold on eBay for $20 in December.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone know if it's still possible to buy a maroon copy anywhere? I've looked everywhere I could think of but could only find a loser edition copy on discogs that someone is hecka overpricing (without the 7" too).

I found this forum while looking for pressing information on The Postal Service's Give Up on vinyl. I've also been using the #vinylcollective on instagram for vinyl photos I take (and had no idea there was an actual vinyl collective website ).

I'm interested but can you upload a photo? And you wouldn't be willing to take $40 shipped would you?
