  1. Really? I think its a top 3 National album behind Alligator and Boxer. And sometimes I feel it may be better than Boxer.
  2. Finally tracked down the Teardrop 12". I now have all 4 singles from this album. They had some great remixes for this LP.
  3. Not really. I cans see them picking up some of the LCD pieces, but this feels more AF than LCD.
  4. They probably need to flip more records on the bay to get cash for a better notification system.
  5. I think it's over kill for the price. I prefer the poly lined paper sleeves. I think they are just as good.
  6. Sorry. I meant smaller as in releases with smaller demand.
  7. If it changes anything, this is not on the Drag city label. It's on their boutique label Sea Note. Which I believe is for their smaller run release.
  8. Because stores are supposed to get some copies. So distributors will need to have this.
  9. I concede that it was dumb of them to underestimate demand for it, but I don't think you have any proof that it's what they set out to do (fuck people over by pressing more later).
  10. Just trying to be a voice of reason. I'm also not the one throwing out wild claims that DC made this limited so they can flip some on ebay.
  11. Also, if buying 1 record is breaking your bank (buying it now vs. later), I think you have bigger problems than it being limited or not.
  12. I think you are getting way too bent out of shape about this.
  13. Its interesting. Some demos work and some don't (only on Side A) Sinners is great. Its got a nice swagger to it You're the Doctor sounds like a raw version of the album track The rest of the tracks on this side become slower, acoustic versions of their LP counterparts. Pretty interesting take on them. Especially The Hill.
  14. This was just delivered. Can't wait to play it.
  15. I still don't get the accusing drag City of flipping their own records. Wouldn't Drag city have made more money from pressing a few thousand LPs rather than selling a few hundred and flipping maybe a dozen on eBay? What do they get by having made a record so rare and selling it for $20. If it's true they can sell thousands of Ty records just by releasing a LP, why resort to shenanigans like this. That's why it doesn't make any sense. Sometimes it is as cut and dry as it looks. Maybe this was just supposed to be a treat for hardcore fans that turned into a wider release when real demand was gauged. If you want to dog them about misjudging demand fine, but I didn't see anything malicious about this. And none of us know details behind the email and follow up post so it's pointless to speculate.
  16. I just don't see it as a big deal. No one forced us to buy it. So what if the label pressed more? Maybe if you bought it in eBay for $200, then you can get pissed. But by all accounts this was limited and the label stuck to that until they saw that demand was big enough to warrant another pressing. So I don't see how they lied. They just changed their minds. And I do t understand getting so upset about that. If you have your copy the. Why should you care if there are more?
  17. To be clear, I don't care if something is limited and people collect it. Hell, I have limited stuff. It's the acting butthurt when something stops being limited when the label presses more that's weird.
  18. And god forbid a press release/email blast tries to entice people to purchase something as soon as possible. I'm sure they figured the demand for an LP of demos of an album fans already have wouldn't have been so huge. Especially in a year where he has another new album out plus a side project album. And maybe saying "limited" is what drove the demand. It's pretty awesome not them to just say 'fuck it' and press more. I think the only people who should be pissed here are the people who wanted something super limited. And those people are weird.
  19. I don't think it said one way or another how many copies were pressed. Didn't he have 800 copies in his "store" and the album was a mix of 100 copies? It's possible he is sold out.
  20. Relax dude. They are referring to people who ordered early and then sold theirs on eBay. I'm certain they aren't taking any issue with you.
