What is the biggest wince moment for ya’ll on EN?  That’s the real juicy question.  I’m not sure if it’s Regina’s vocals on the chorus of Electric Blue or maybe the lyrics to Chemistry.  Peter Pan is so unbelievably goofy that it actually kind of won me over with its absurdity.

Electric Blue by far. best song on that record.

  2. Also, with warping becoming more and more common because of hurried productions, 180g/200g records should be more common to cut down on warping. I know people get bent out of shape because its a gimmick, but I've been in this hobby for the past 25 years and (anecdotally) I've only had 3-4 very minor warps in the first 23 years but I've had twice as many major warps in the past two. They need to do whatever they can to mitigate this issue.

  3. Got this. Nice looking set that for sure. Some quibbles.

Thru Day 1: Can confirm a warp. Mine is on LP1. Can't even play it. Hoping to use the vinyl flat on it later tonight. Hoping for the best.

The individual sleeves are pretty basic (basically a medium stock printer inner). For the price, super basic outers would have been reasonable. Also, Records goes right in them. no inner sleeves included. Luckily, they can fit an inner (using a mofi type sleeve - nothing pokes out)

Also, it would be nice to put the flatbed jam in the box, but its sleeve is standard and 1/8" too big for the clamshell. So thats annoying.

Sound is pretty good. Some of the usual GZ issues like crackles and surface noise. Didn't really do a thorough cleaning because I was excited to play it, so that will probably help.

Mastering sounds fantastic. Typical Bellman stuff.

  4. To be clear, I’m generally fine with the 10c. They could communicate better and I wish they didn’t make EVERYTHING super limited (but I get that they are constrained by inventory space), but they are generally responsive to issues, they offer good stuff. Taking a 20,000 ft view of it, it’s a fine organization. I think they have touchy fans who interact in a vacuum, so issues tend to be amplified.

Has 10C ever come out & said why they don't offer Media mail for records and whatnot?

They have said that Mail Innovations allows them to better manage shipments.

my guess is, UPS threw lots of tech and equipment at them to be their only shipper and because they are a small operation they just say ‘fuck it’ because it makes their jobs easier and it’s easier to send out form email responses to complaints. Plus their shit sells regardless of speed, issues or costs, so there’s no real incentive for them to change.
