i do my best to stick within a budget. i haven't been doing very good lately though.

HEY! did you get the little zine with the shinobu/pteradon split? bob wrote a little paragraph about my band in there, shinobu's some of our best buds! it's a great split, pteradon is a great band too.

i remembered one while i was out tonight. i saw elliott smith.

i've seen weezer like 5 or 6 times, none of which i would include in my all-time favorite shows, except for maybe the first. sigur ros was a religious experience. when my first band played with trial and bane at the same show, that was pretty incredible. it was right after it all comes down to this and are these our lives? came out. i saw a death cab acoustic show with maybe 50 people. seen too many to remember them all. every shinobu show is an occasion.

but the new rilo kiley record is disco.

i really like this band. but sometimes i feel like they're fucking with me. like "haha, look what we can do!" or "betcha didn't think we were gonna do this here!" "you like death metal? well guess what, here's a fist full of salsa jams!" "you like this ambient part? well here's a crazy riff! then some stuff your mom would want to dance to!" "we're so good we can play anything! and we will! and you'll love it!"

the red head that hooks up with mclovin is actually from santa fe and my bass player hooked up with her when they were in high school.
