  1. yeah strange, i dont mind roller coasters at all, its the being strapped in that makes it ok, i think. oh and i have no problem with spiders, or any other things with their skeletons on the outside. i once had a pet cockroach, like the kind that are shown when sylar escapes in heroes. he quietly sat and ate dog food bits. pretty boring pet, actually.
  2. i would love to, but unfortunately, the segway was destroyed shortly after the party began, in a bout of poor judgment brought on by copious quantities of ethanol. in short, my roommate needed the top of it for something, and so he commissioned the removal of the handles for the greater good. i was off being drunk somewhere, so in the end, all was forgiven.
  3. + 1 for AD avatar. i was GOB for halloween. i even made a segway out of cardboard boxes and black duct tape.
  4. bahaha not heights, i'm cool looking out of a plane window and other stuff like that, but falling. jesus if i stand on a glass floor thats too high my legs actually give out from under me and i feel nauseous. or if i'm near a railing at some high-up place and i can imagine falling over the side... yeah.
  5. i preordered Bear vs Shark - Right now..... vinyl last january when it came out. i waited two months decided it was time to get ahold of friction about it. emailed the dude, hes like 'oh sure no problem' i wait again.... nothing in the mail. i email him again, this time it takes him a while to get back to me, it says "what was your address again?" so i give the address and there is no reply and again..... NOTHING! so here i sit without the record. ive thought about just paying for it again but i'm in canada and i dont want to deal with the extra shipping.
  6. nah, a pane of glass. we arent talking about cookware here. window glass, for instance. anything that is large enough to completely cover the vinyl, and completely flat, of course. i'm sure if you put weight on the glass on either side of the record that it would eliminate the need for the glass to be super heavy, but jeremy didnt say anything about weight, so i dont think it would be necessary.
  7. answer, from Mr. Jeremy DeVine himself: Sandwich the record between two panes of glass and lay it on a flat surface in a warm environment for about an hour. Not too hot, just warm enough to warp a record in the first place (80-90 degrees). I used to do this in college and it worked great. I never noticed any wobbling of the audio after it was flattened, but that all really depends on how warped the record is to begin with.
  8. i dont mind a repress, if you have a first pressing, you still know you ahve a first pressing, and its still worth as much to collectors who want only the first pressing. 2nd pressing is for new fans/those who missed out the first time. i would be overjoyed to see all of envy's records repressed (aside from insomniac doze, which i actually own) i ahve their full lengths on cd, of course, but i'd like some vinyl to go along with that too.
  9. whats on the other side of distorted reality? i cant remember.
  10. i have that pic disc. pm me an offer and i'll considering parting with it. it wont ship til mid december though (its at home in buffalo and i am in vancouver right now)
  11. check the TRL website, i'm fairly sure its still available in non-colored wax, but i could be wrong. if its still in print, as long as its in good condition, paying a little less than list price, not including shipping would be reasonable.
  12. dont everyone kill me at once but..... who are bigwig?
  13. If its on color its 114 I believe is the correct number. If its black I haven't found anything indicating quantity. http://www.level-plane.com/hotcross/hc-records.html yeah i actually looked at that. i'm not sure whether they are referring to the original Robodog version, of really if there was even a 2nd 10" pressing. i know ive seen the figure 100 before, just not sure where. and mine is in fact on black. in between the lead out loops, it says; side one: if its going to be that kind of party.......side two: .... im gonna stick my dick in the hot sauce. if that would give anyone a clue to the specific pressing. oh and the insert is shaped like a red cross sign
  14. hey man, i just graduated from bio. sci. at UB, what department were you in?
  15. truf. or the piss of a homeless man. personal favorites: storm king imperial stout, its an amazing brew boddingtons pub ale yuengling. im not a particular fan of their lager, but their black & tan brew is phenomenal. and also phenomenally cheap. and sam adams. i love their ales. they are really surprisingly good for a large brewer. ive never liked lager. well, i like two lagers well enough to actually purchase them with my own money. steam whistle (its local out of toronto, and ive never seen it outside of the greater toronto area and outlying towns) and tsingtao. something about the way it finishes has always appealed to me. ive tried alot of czech, polish, russian, and ukranian beers, and none of them have been good enough for me to try a second time. too light, not enough flavor, etc. i just dont like pilsners in general. i like one IPA thats worth mentioning, sierra nevada IPA i'm often hesitant to try certain magic hat brews. alot of their beer has declined in quality over the years (look no farther than #9 for an example), but i still like their winter seasonal, Jinx. i'd recommend it to any of you, regardless of your general inclinations towards certain types of beer. its bitter, but not excessively so, and its relatively dark. try red ale with a twist. flying bison out of buffalo makes some superb brews. aviator red, village idiot (a dark ale), and blackbird oatmeal stout are three of the best beers ive ever had. no exaggeration. blackbird in particular, is the best oatmeal stout ive had. not as 'thick' or overpowering as oatmeal stouts can be. i'd even go so far as to say its refreshing, to a point. you can only get it on tap though, and ive only ever seen it in buffalo city proper. shame they only bottle two or three of their beers for retail. and for safety beer, theres nothing better than guinness. i'll also drink any of the sam adams ales, or newcastle. or stella. theres nothing wrong with any of these, and theyre way more widely available.
  16. i listened to nothing but his s-t for about 6 months during undergrad. i wasnt particularly depressed, but at the time i had been listening to shit like norma jean, ed gein, and 9 shocks terror, and his stuff was so different than anything else i had ever listened to that it just hit me harder than anything else ever had. still one of my top 3 or so albums. it has incredible staying power, you just dont get tired of it. roman candle and from a basement are also amazing, despite the latter being pieced together after he died. (the tracks arent in the order he had started putting together at all. apparently shooting star was supposed to be the first track on the album, and 'ostriches and chirping' probably wasnt intended as a track in and of itself)
  17. fall of troy s/t is good. their new and newest stuff.... not so much. miles and miles better than coheed though. i used to LOVE FoT, i have something like 3000 posts on their board, i quit posting about a year and a half ago though. as for halloween, im gonna be GOB. i'll make a segway out of cardboard and slick my hair up and carry a deck of cards around. and maybe i can set up a thing that shoots water from my wrists. .... but where did the LIGHTER FLUID come from??!!?
  18. i thought for a second mohinder used a power tonight, but it was only a tazer gun. ah well. its better they dont bring too many new 'heroes' into it anyway. i hope it pretty much cuts off with this chick from veronica mars.
  19. i really wish i knew about this too. i had an acquaintance in LA go to the estate sale for me, and i got some silverware and a bluth company coffee mug, like the one tom is always holding at the office, and a script to 'missing kitty'. pickings were pretty slim by the time my friend got there though. really really wish i'd known about this, i'm going as GOB for halloween and i really need a pair of those wierd silk-ish pants he is always wearing.
  20. a massive Envy box set of every oop thing they ever had on HG fact
  21. off the top of my head? my 10" pressing of Hot Cross - A New Set of Lungs pretty sure its out of 100? i'd have to check to be sure though. some others might be more rare, either i dont have the full pressing info or i'm just not remembering
