I just hope they press it on a cool color. ideally speaking, clear with dark red haze (to look like blood vessels) -
I messaged Triple Crown Records in a long shot effort to license The Receiving End Of Sirens - Between the Heart and the Synapse and it's a already in the works. Supposedly the art was approved on Tuesday and it's going to be a special Triple Crown release. I am very excited. There's no time frame though so this might not happen for a while.

I want to start a small record label
griftors18 replied to griftors18's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
yeah i know its going to cost a lot, thats why im doing the research now and by the end of the summer i'll have a better idea of how much it will cost and i'll have had a whole summer's worth of of income at my disposal. I'm know that 1000 bucks wont buy me shit. Like i said I'm in the research and gathering funds stage. -

anyways, I was just looking for some input on how to obtain licenses, pay royalties, and just get a scope of how releasing already published material works. -

i dont have much money now, but its way more expendable. like I'm not working to pay off my loans right now the money is being used for buying records and hopefully pressing some too. I'm not rolling in money if that's the impression that you get. I've got about a 1000 dollars to my name. I'm just saying that when i get a real job i will have real life expenses like rent, phone bills, and paying for my student loans. -

haha yeah I guess it seems like a lot of people are starting one. oh well. I just figured it's something I've wanted to do for a while so might as well just see if its financially possible and go for it. and I'm a junior in college, so it wont be too long before I'm in the real world and I won't have the time or cash to get one started. But I see your point. -
TRANSIT - STAY HOME - GOLD VINYL - PRE ORDER!!
griftors18 replied to barrettrecords's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
glad to see there's a second press. i already grabbed the first press black/gold and it sounds sweet. one of the best bands coming out of Massachusetts i must say. they are going on a huge US tour with fireworks, the swellers, and man overboard. everybody needs to see this band live. the energy they bring is great. but i dont how well they are received across america but their new england shows are nuts. -
so I'm planning on starting a really small record label just putting out 2 or 3 releases a year. I want to get started by pressing some of my favorite records on vinyl. how do i go about obtaining the licenses from the original label. I know I'm purchasing mechanical licenses for manufacturing and distribution practices only and the industry standard is 9.1 cents per song per album pressed. But do i contact the label for this or the publishing company. And how do royalties work in these situations. I'm just trying to get all of my information straight before I throw away all the money from my summer job. thanks.

yeah, i have friends like that too. Once i went to the restroom and one of my friends grabbed my phone and texted someone i knew and told her how i wanted to eat her ass out. I never found out which one of my friends actually did it either. ^^I could have lived without knowing this. -
I'd be down for a group buy.

They aren't really hardcore anymore. They are more like indie than anything now, but by all means still book them. They are still great, but they sound NOTHING like they used to.
