I have lots and lots of references on here, discogs, ebay, vlv, etc. would prefer money sent as gift because fuck paypal and their bastard-ass fees, but understand some people not being into that. email - [email protected] - not good at responding to pms
  8. ugh, sorted through lp's and put nearly 50 more records online. all I want is a rootbeer float
  9. In keeping with my resolution to not let record collection grow anymore than it should, I'm selling tons (including some hozac hookups/sub pop single/weirdo records/man or astroman oddities/gutg/etc) put up some more 7"s, will put up lps in a few minutes
  10. Sold some more. Probably put some noise uP when I get home
  11. I'll probably do that and just put it with one of the other first press entries. I've submitted two releases and neither of them have been put online, but other people have put up records I'm on or put out. It's bizarre.
  12. top because I added stuff. also: does anyone want minus the bear "planet of ice" (white/silver 1st press)? I have one for sale, but discogs pressing info on that isn't up to date, so I don't know how to put it on there.
  13. $3/4 shipping depending how much you get. Lots of other stuff on discogs if you care. 6 - Husker Du - “Eight Miles High/Makes No Sense At All” 5 - Neva Dinova w/ Bright Eyes - “One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels” (peach of 2000) 5 - Swarrrm / Dimlaia - Swarrrm / Dimlaia (White) 4 - Thank God / Tigershark 4 - Monarcs / Thank God 6 - Louise Cyphre/Shikari - “Split” - Level Plane (9") 18 - Pageninetynine - “Document #8” (og, on electric human, black vinyl) 15 - Teengenerate - Audio Recording (10") 4 - Mass Movement Of The Moth - Finale (10", Bla) 5 - Seasick - “Awakenings” email me: [email protected] like I said, lots of stuff on discogs, but would rather do 10"s here/other boards/people don't care about 10"s on discogs.
  14. I HATE kick starter, but thought maybe some people would dig this - basically for a long time my friend stew has talked about making this movie, but whatever. people talk about making movies/writing books/recording records that never happen and you just kind of blow it off. Even after I saw an almost finished draft of the screen play, I was like "whatever". Now it seems it's actually happening. He also decided to move cross country. Quit his job, dropped out of college, broke up with his girlfriend, all because he wants to try to make movies. Maybe youll like donating to this, maybe you won't. But I was impressed that he has gone this far, and think some people on here might be into it too - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stewartcantrell/control-a-short-film-1
  15. He might be too busy hanging out as his parents house j-ing off. Seriously though, just think about where the money is going with a label like this. Typical DIY money flow is a label pays a plant for pressing, then gives the bands a royalty cut, and usually gives them records. Distributors buy from the label (or in some cases paid for part of the record ahead of time), stores buy from distributor or label, and people buy from label or store, or occasionally small distros. Look at where the money is going. To the band, indie distributors, the label, the pressing plant, stores, and the label. With his style of releases, the money is going to the major labels. The same labels that punks refused to buy from for years. Then his label, and less often indie stores and distros. It's bringing more money to filthy rich fucks running majors. Fuck this style of label running.
  16. Also, probably wrong about vc putting bands first, but at least he knew the bands he was working with.
  17. Businessmen. This is exactly a lot of people's issue with him. He's a businessman first, and a member of the community second. He has very openly stated that he stopped releasing new stuff because he lost money on ONE record. Every label loses money on a record or two. But most either close shop, or keep finding new stuff. He made some money on a few reissues, and instead of going back to helping bands, he's helping major labels. The truth is, everyone has to run a label like a business, but their is a difference between running like a punk/DIY label, and running it like he does. For all of the absurd shit vc did, he at least always put the artists first (after beer tours of course). It basically just comes down to the fact that he advertises himself as a DIY label, and then isnt actually helping anyone in the DIY community (other than record collectors with too much money). How many of his releases get to independent record stores (which is immensely helpful to music communities, especially in booking tours)? How many great unknown bands is he pushing into the picture? How many bands is he taking chances on that haven't had anyone take a chance on them yet? Say what you will about magic bullet, robotic, etc, but every one of those labels has taken too many chances on bands that no one knew. They might reissue a record or two, but if that keeps them afloat so they can keep pressing new stuff, then more power too them. Also, if this dissolves into grammar arguments, go start a separate thread. Bringing up grammar on a message board is admitting you're wrong.
  18. Whoa added some stuff. Putting up some classic rock stuff tonight. Discogs is so much better than eBay!
  19. Not really trying to continually bump, but is there an all purpose discogs thread? I've been adding little bits every few days and feel bad bumping it when I do (like people do with ebay threads). ex humans lp up, because I like it, but didn't love it. carbonas members.
  20. hey, put these on discogs. It's way way easy, the process is simple, and they don't keep a big cut (like ebay). I've been putting up a bunch of records there, and while it all might not sell, it's way less headache inducing that selling through vc/vlv/df
  21. put up some no idea stuff, pageninetynine 10", random punk 7"s, etc. It's totally confusing what has sold so far. Expensive jimmy eat world record yes, other stuff that should sell no, noise record that no one cares about yes?
