    $23.99

Brand new from Newbury Comics and Jagjaguwar Records, Dinosaur Jr.'s "Bug" on Translucent Yellow Vinyl in an exclusive limited edition of 1000 pieces.

We're very excited to have another Dinosaur Jr. piece here at Newbury (we released a 500 piece edition of "You're Living All Over Me" earlier this year), as we go way back with them (yay New England!) and they're still making some of the best music of their career.

Out on September 2 and available for pre-order now.

  2. someone said this would happen in the blues traveler thread

Okay, all we need now is Spin Doctors reissues, or maybe an Astro Lounge expanded edition, and the terrible 90s music repress trend will officially be beyond parody.

    BLUES TRAVELLER, YOU GUYS. FUCK

Congrats to AlexH, you win a K-TEL 80's Vinyl prize pack!   I guess we should get ready for Smash Mouth's Astro Lounge now, since AlexH also predicted that too...hahaha.

  3. Regarding the How to train your Dragon 2 soundtrack....any Jonsi or Sigur Ros fans may be interested:

Composer John Powell, who earned his first Academy Award nomination for his music in the original How To Train Your Dragon movie, returned to score the sequel. The score was conducted by Gavin Greenaway and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with a 120 piece orchestra, a 100-voice choir, and a wide array of ethnic instruments, including celtic harp, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, bodhrán, and bagpipes.

Sigur Rós lead vocalist, Jónsi, who wrote and performed the song "Sticks & Stones" for the original movie, provided two new original songs for the sequel in collaboration with Powell. The track "Where No One Goes" is not only written, but also performed by Jónsi and Powell.  Belarusian-Norwegian artist Alexander Rybak, who voices Hiccup in Norwegian, also wrote and performed the song "Into A Fantasy".

  4. Hi, I'm Doug Downer, Debbie Downer's brother.  I hate to be the bearer of reason and logic, but there is no way this is both the Awesome Mix Tape AND Tyler Bates score on a 2LP set.  To end all speculation the description in the 2LP listing on Amazon had to have been copied from the Deluxe CD version.  The reason you can verify that this can't be both items on a 2LP set, is just by looking at the track times posted on ITunes, which are:

    Awesome Mix

    1 Hooked on a Feeling (Blue Swede ) 2:52
2 Go All the Way (Raspberries) 3:21
3 Spirit in the Sky (Norman Greenbaum) 4:02
4 Moonage Daydream (David Bowie) 4:41
5 Fooled Around and Fell In Love (Elvin Bishop) 4:35
    6 I'm Not in Love (10cc) 6:03
    7 I Want You Back (Jackson 5) 2:58
8 Come and Get Your Love (Redbone) 3:26
9 Cherry Bomb (The Runaways)  2:17
10 Escape (The Piña Colada Song) (Rupert Holmes) 4:37
    11 O-O-H Child (The Five Stairsteps) 3:13

On a standard 33 1/3 LP, the maximum time per side is around 25 minutes.  So this LP will likely just feature the Awesome Mix, which is still awesome, but to include both, the set would need to be a 3LP deluxe box (let's hope).  Just wanted to point this out, so people didn't make an order with the assumption they'd be getting BOTH, because that isn't happening.

Plus, if you Google the UPC code for it, some other online retailers are just listing it as a single LP release.

  5. No problem dude. Thanks for the message! While you didn't start the leak, perpetuating it is just as bad. I have loads of respect for what Lindsay and Joel have done with their label, and their wishes were that this information stay private until their official announcement, so that should've been honored. It's their landmark 50th release.

Ok, fair enough, but in the info that was released it was never stated or claimed that the label didn't want this information out in the public until you just mentioned it at 5:23pm.  the original information that was leaked, the way it was presented was that certain VIPs got early access to the Pre-Order, that was it.  Had the full story been made known, I doubt that I would have reposted what I did.  Just my 2 cents.

Again, it is going up in less than 5 hours anyway and the information is out there--so no use crying over spilled milk.

  6.

Just look at Forbenator's tradelist ;):

    • If These Trees Could Talk 'Self-Titled & Above The Earth, Below The Sky' EP+LP [ /100] A/B Translucent Orange, C/D Translucent Sea Blue

    • If These Trees Could Talk 'Self-Titled & Above The Earth, Below The Sky' EP+LP [ /50] Test Press w/ Hand-Numbered, Screen-Printed Jacket

I guess running Slyvinyl has its benefits...hah

  7. From what I recall:

    Black Haze/Clear $23.99

    Clear  $23.99

Tour Press/100 on Orange/Blue (sold out, supposedly there were 20 available early, rest for tour)

    Test Press/50 (unknown price)

    Art Print /110 copies

Please correct me if I am wrong.  This was from mattphotographs guy in Utah who had a friend who got early access to the sale because he was a member of the 'crew'.

Thanks for the downvote Batman and foreskinator!

If this was so top secret, nobody took the time to PM me and kindly ask me to edit/remove the info.

  8. A good amount of people got access yesterday afternoon.

(They were asked to not forward the email link to the crew pre order.)

    Wednesday - Crew Pre Order

Thursday - Mylene Newsletter Pre Order

    Friday - Public

I was told the orange/blue was allegedly sold out. They could be wrong.

I'm having my buddy check right now. Unfortunately confirmed, but you'll be able to pick it up on tour.

Same buddy is picking one up for me on said tour.

So was there no limit?  You mentioned earlier that you knew one guy who bought 3 copies of everything.  I am all for VIP early access to friends and "crew", but not if it fucks over the general fanbase.
