  1. Unless it sells out first, then Amazon won't get any. Like others have said, I'm really surprised the 1500 haven't sold out already, even at the $250.
  2. And if you live in California, you get to pay $20 in tax on top of the already steep price.
  3. http://www.truepanther.com/#/store/releases/mixed-emotions Edition of 500, surprisingly still available. Don't miss out on this one, it's ending up on a lot of Best Of 2012 lists.
  4. I'm a Mac user myself, and the iMacs are perfect for the type of work you're doing, but be forewarned, the hard drives that ship in iMacs from Apple contain firmware that also controls fan speeds. You can Google the Mac forums to see how many problems users have had trying to do their HDD upgrades with non-Apple hard drives who then suffer loud, continuous fan noise. Also, the process of removing the HDD requires pulling the glass face out of the iMac using suction cups, so watch some YouTube videos beforehand to get familiar with the pitfalls.
  5. Dip a small nylon artist paint brush in naphtha (lighter fluid), dab the excess on a paper towel, and gently brush the stylus tip. Naphtha is a solvent, but doesn't dissolve vinyl or most plastics. Used this method for years.
  6. And why hasn't Interventions & Lullabies ever made it to vinyl?
  7. Best = Amazon. I know they've been panned in this thread, but hey, they came up with the "frustration free" mailer (which Third Man now uses, thankfully), plus returns are free and refunds are immediate. Acoustic Sounds. For the pricey shit, these guys can't be beat. They ship FedEx, their mailers (which were Amazon's inspiration) are bulletproof, and the guys will walk back in the warehouse for you and look at stock while you're on the phone with them. Juno.co.uk. How these guys are always able to get my vinyl across the Atlantic in perfect condition is a mystery, when I can't get the same thing from LA without it being trashed. Mediocre = Insound. Multiple emails required to get a response. Website is rarely accurate regarding what's in stock. Bad = ImportCDs (Super D, the largest distributor in the US). Guaranteed seam splits and/or bad corners in their slightly oversized shitty Bags Unlimited mailers. Returns are on your dime, and sometimes you have to email them a reminder to get your refund + return postage. Third Man. Until their recent adoption of Amazon's design, everything arrived damaged. Matador. Like others have said, everything arrives damaged in soft cardboard boxes. They just can't seem to get it right, but they're always pleasant about sending replacements, and have never asked for the damaged goods back. Merge. Same as Matador, but shipping is always free in the US. Ditto their replacement policy. Worst = Thrill Jockey. Vinyl comes covered in glue residue from the sleeves, and the idiot in mailorder expects you to pay the return shipping, and then only for store credit. If anybody knows who he is, please punch him for me.
  8. $19.98 for colored 45RPM 180g 2XLP in gatefold cover is grossly overpriced? Uh... BTW, free shipping on orders over $50. Forgot to mention, the Yo Gabba Gabba is 45RPM mastered.
  9. 20% discount online at UO website today at 5PM EST until 3AM EST, Holiday Hump Sale, enter code HUMPDAY20. Online only.
  10. Update: UO added it to their website this morning; the colors shown in the photos look pure red & green--my copy is translucent orange & translucent green. Last night when I tried to download the MP3s from the card, UO hadn't even uploaded them to the server yet.
  11. A new UO Exclusive just hit the shelves today: 2XLP (1 translucent green, 1 translucent orange) Yo Gabba Gabba "The Super Music Friends Show" compilation with Toro Y Moi, Band Of Horses, Belle & Sebastian, The Roots, etc. Gatefold with download card. Not listed on the UO website as of writing (12/11).
