  1. I just got my Amazon copy today. The only differences that I can see are the faded (or lighter) labels, download card and sticker on the new copy. The cover seems flimsier than the original as I remember it (I sold my original pressing a while back). Without the original, I can not confirm the mastering info in the runoff wax. If anyone has an original, please let me know what's in the runoff. The new vinyl has "WGINRP" in the runoff. I couldn't tell, from my quick google research, what plant or person that indicates.
  2. I agree, you have to go MoFi if it's affordable for you. If you want the biggest bang for your buck, Beggars recently released "Wave of Mutilation" on vinyl - orange or black. http://beggarsgroupusa.com/releases/wave-of-mutilation-best-of-pixies/
  3. I'd wait for jagjaguwar's pre-order. They may do a limited press or have various packages available. Hopefully, they'll add some excitement to the vinyl release.
  4. They're up on the flaming lips webstore for $150! if you were to buy one, would you tear it open or eat it to get to the USB drive with the tunes? http://www.flaminglips.com/store
  5. Is anyone else awaiting their TRL order? With all the excitement and talk of color, I'm starting to feel left out. I emailed TRL requesting status and haven't received a response.
  6. So, what happened? All discs were color except for Transmissions? Or was everything black vinyl?
  7. According to Subpop, it's a run of 200 and each store gets one (1) white vinyl. Doesn't look like 200 stores are participating, though so I'm not sure what happens to the rest.
  8. Oddly enough, you're right - not numbered and no RSD sticker. I don't really care about the sticker but would've liked to have a numbered copy for sure.
  9. The order status for my colored vinyl just changed to "shipped" this morning! Can't freakin' wait!
  10. Because Sound Matters does have the black up for sale right now ($45.99). I wonder if they'll have an exclusive for the colored vinyl, too.
  11. Just a reminder, I posted this tiny nugget from The Wax Poetic blog a while back... As my final "gift" to the fans, if you happen to be a fan of Jimmy Eat World, here is a nice tidbit for you. ORG Music is making 500 *colored* vinyl copies of the Bleed American 3LP set. Only 100 of those will be at Coachella, so what about the other 400 you ask?? If you aren't registered on their website, now may be a good time to sign up, along with www.becausesoundmatters.com, because look for those 400 colored copies to go on sale to the General Public......
  12. I haven't read the whole thread but if it hasn't been covered already...ORG held onto a bunch of copies to thwart eBay flippers. Read on... This is an official auction for 20 copies of the Jimmy Eat World "Bleed American" 3 x LP that was a Record Store Day exclusive. Apparently, a lot of stores passed on this one and several scalpers have gone online for ridiculous prices. We don't want our customers and Jimmy Eat World fans to get gouged so we are putting these up at SRP pricing so you can buy copies at the rate you should have paid at retail on RSD. Each copy is factory sealed and numbered. We do not guarantee a specific number or range of number (please do not ask) but we do guarantee that it will be well packaged so you will receive it in pristine condition. Also, there is free shipping in the USA (USPS Media Mail). No foreign orders allowed under license (sorry
  13. Go now! More available here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120714406968&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
  14. Anybody's order status change from "In Process" yet??? I was under the assumption the colored pressings were ready to ship.
  15. You might want to read this before purchasing your 2M Black... http://analogueadventures.com/2011/04/14/i-couldnt-stop-dreaming-of-dynavector/
  16. MMJ knows how to do vinyl... several amazing packages available. http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/
  17. If you're an MMJ fan and in KY on RSD11, you may want to check this article regarding a very, very limited 12". ONLY TWO STORES PARTICIPATING! http://consequenceofsound.net/2011/04/my-morning-jacket-to-release-exclusive-single-for-record-store-day/
  18. Sweet IKEA hack! Check the link for instructions. Not sure if anyone's linked to this before but is cool enough to mention again, if so... http://www.ikeahackers.net/2011/04/vinyl-records-and-cds-sideboard.html
  19. Did a vinyl rip last night... the LP wasn't as warped as I thought it was going to be considering it was practically bent in half during shipping. So, I'm pleased.
  20. Use a damp sponge on glossy covers, not too wet. Lighter fluid (naphtha) gets sticker glue and other tacky substances off nicely. And magic marker will come off using dry erase marker - just trace over the magic marker with the dry erase marker and then erase. It lifts the magic marker off with it. May not get 100% but it will be a vast improvement, trust me. I've been crate digging for years and, sadly, I know all this stuff works. Be aware, if it's a textured cover like Neil Young's Harvest, your screwed. Anything you put on it will be immediatlely absorbed into the paper, or worse, you can accidentally remove some paper or permanently discolor it. Yes, I'm a nerd.
  21. Hard to see the white swirls, they actually look like dark swirls in the photos. The gold vinyl is translucent also.
  22. There's a thread here if you're interested in the complaints. http://www.antilabelblog.com/?p=5111
  23. Any first hand accounts of this debacle in DC????? http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/music/2011/03/29/radioheads-bad-map-lures-fans-to-brightwood/
