  1. i would hope no money transaction was involved. ok, maybe a beer or two, but that's it. it's not like this board makes revenue. unless I'm wrong. But it's a great marketing tool for a record label / distro, especially with the already established user base. Now they have to cut the ties to Virgil as quick as possible (apparently that already happened) in order to stop user migration to other boards and win back the ones that already left.
  2. Another round of packages went out and record list got updated. Thanks for all the interest so far. Keep the offers coming.
  3. The German branch of Metronome belongs to Universal as does A&M who did the US re-release of "Big Choice" in 1995. Based on the matrix etchings and the sticker I would guess that this was never intended as a real release but that they just pressed a bunch to promote the Big Choice album in Germany.
  4. You can just sell it back to the co-op. That's what I did a while ago.
  5. Sorry then. I thought the other guy was pointing to a copy that went on auction a couple of months ago.
  6. I think that's the same copy the other guy was posting about.
  7. Here are both shades of green for the Bad Religion - No Control repress next to each other. Hope that clarifies things.
  8. Maybe somebody here can help out with some info on this Face To Face - Disconnected 12" test/white label promo. It's a one-sided EP and it's definitely a German pressing. But to my knowledge there was never a regular release of this EP in this form. My guess is that the record company handling the German release of the Big Choice album just pressed a bunch of these as promos. The matrix etchings are as follows: Side A: 45 UPM / FTF 001-A / SST Side B: LEERRILLEN
  9. More pics, my copies of Strung Out - Twisted By Design. To me they seem to be the same shade of blue, though I have no idea whether it's the light blue or the dark blue variation.
  10. The first round of packages went out and the record list got updated. Keep the offers coming.
  11. I got asked for some pictures of my Nofx - They've Actually Gotten Worse Live, so here we go. (These are not 3 pics of the same record, I actually have 3 copies. They just look very much alike.)
  12. Looks like it was $75: http://www.vinylcollective.com/2009/10/01/vinyl-collectivesuburban-home-club-card/ Not THAT bad, but I doubt anyone is getting a refund anytime soon as promised. What were some of the special releases / offers for card holders?
  13. This was already on Ebay last week and nobody bid on it.
  14. First round of packages went out today and the list got updated again.
  15. Unless Paal moved recently, he lives in the Netherlands.
  16. Thanks for the interest so far. I've updated the record list, taking out the stuff that's gone. (The way it looks, there'll be another round of updates soon.) In case you bought something and are wondering why the record still appears on the list, that's because I have doubles of a bunch of stuff. And because the question came up several times: Yes, everything on the list is for sale.
  17. Fixed it. Sorry, I have no idea what went wrong there.
  18. It's not really about "hearing" the motor, it's about the motor being placed directly under the platter causing wow and flutter. It's not so "nutty". Denon made (makes) better quality direct drive tables, but I wouldn't recommend those either. Normally with direct drive tables the platter is directly connected to a motor underneath. However, the Technics has a different construction principle that makes the platter actually part of the motor. The platter itself serves as the rotor of the electric motor and spins due to the magnetic field induced by the surrounding stator. Keep in mind that the SL1200 series was originally designed as an audiophile table. The DJs came later.
  19. Thanks for all the interest, this sale is closed.
  20. According to the item description shipping is free within Europe for the Bad Religion box:
  21. $373 plus import tax which will also be quite hefty.
  22. The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) '>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi5sbj3JhLk&ob=av2e Die Ärzte - Angeber Die Ärzte (the doctors) are probably the most famous German punk band. Here's an English version of the lyrics: Show-Off Ah, look at me: I'm the guy who can do everything Uh, listen to me: I'm a thousand times better, a thousand times better than you Ah, look at me: I'm the guy who can do everything Uh, listen to me: I'm a thousand times better, a thousand times better than you There's nothing that you can't do, there's nothing that you don't know There's nothing that you don't know better than me You've already been everywhere, you've already seen everything And basically all women are in love with you Show-off, show off a little bit more for me - You know, I like to listen when you talk about your adventures Show-off - showing off is your favorite sport I listen to you gapingly and pretend to believe every word Show-off Ah, look at me: I'm the guy who can do everything Uh, listen to me: I'm a thousand times better, a thousand times better than you Indescribable, unbelievable, incredible: In your fantasy you seem to be the greatest Always higher, always further, always louder, always better, Every time I'm just about to leave, you come up with another one Show-off, show off a little bit more for me - You know, I like to listen when you talk about your adventures Show-off - showing off is your favorite sport I listen to you gapingly and pretend to believe every word Ah, look at me: I'm the guy who can do everything Uh, listen to me: I'm a thousand times better, a thousand times better than you Ah, look at me: I'm the guy who can do everything Uh, listen to me: I'm a thousand times better, a thousand times better than you
