definitely should have laid out some ground rules. either post count or how long you've been a member, maybe a combination of the 2.
when you do something like this it's always going to bring out people who have accounts in some instances for years and rarely if ever post, and the only time they do post is to enter a raffle/contest/give away. and it will always bring out people who sign up just to get free shit, who post in the thread to enter the rafle/contest/ give away and are never heard from again. 27 people have signed up just to enter this contest. promoting this on your twitter and blog has no doubt led to some of the people who just signed up to enter. if you're going to promote the raffle/contest/give away off this board you shouldn't run it on this board.
and this is coming from someone who is not even entering.

willing to bet that once these 7"s come, if they ever do, they will be the cheapest shit possible. black vinyl with plain white labels with the band's name and side A/B printed on it in times new roman or some other generic font, inside a fold over sleeve made out of thin cheap white paper with the cover art being the logo that is on the shirts

No offense to the plants that are rebuilding and probably need the money, but Holy shit, would anyone besides me utilize another plant because you've already kept people from getting their shit long enough?
I mean, what sense does it make that the people who have given you money (and continue to give you money via preorders that don't apply to a good portion of members of the club) are still waiting for a simple two song 7" record?
i pointed this exact thing out in my email correspondence with them after they responded with the plant is damaged and was told this, copied and pasted from their response: "Nice support from a fan! Your idea is to abandon everything you support. For a piece of vinyl"
so they clearly don't give a shit about getting this 7" out in a timely manner if at all. if and when it gets done it gets done.

i emailed them earlier in the week about this and was told the "the plant was damaged by hurricane sandy" excuse. at this point i wonder if there is still any validity to that excuse/reason. any label people know if all the plants in brooklyn are up and running or are there still some that are still in the process of rebuilding.

what kind of records does this person buy. i don't sell on ebay much, but in case i do...
he bids on a lot of Title Fight stuff. but it seems at this point he bids on any and everything that would have a thread about it here, like a PO thread. he doesn't bid on classic rock stuff. but now that i say that here he probably will start bidding on classic rock.
I want to guess that he looks on this website at all the Ebay posts and bids on those. he just bought my sealed senses fail record, which i had posted about on this site. My other records that i didn't post about here were not affected.. Lol
he used to do this. he used to target certain people here and bid on almost all their stuff. i know one guy here a few years ago had to deal with this douche every time he listed stuff. he would bid on the same records he bid on and didn't pay for once they were re-listed.
i think he got IP banned here after he resurfaced again and starting flaking on people. but even if he did get banned there are ways around it. he reads this thread to keep up on what accounts people know about so he knows when to start using a new one.

definitely is. but if you google "613 box branch circle saint johns florida ebay" or " 613 box branch circle florida ebay" all the results are threads here about him being a scammer. this specific thread is the second result. so at least this info can easily be found. unfortunately a person would have to get screwed by this guy at least once and if the seller does a little digging he can find out more info about this douche.

What happened with vinyl junkie. I thought he went to south america on good terms with everyone besides a few shithead labels that never kept track of their inventory.
nothing new. i was referring to what happened with the bad religion box set this musicinveins douche pretty much stole from him when he was filing chargebacks after getting stuff he won in the mail. vinyl junkie went through the proper legal channels, the musicinveins guy appeared to have shit his pants after seeing he could face legal trouble and then promptly returned the box set.
at least he hasnt pulled the charge back bullshit of late, but i hoped potential jail time or a court case would have set this musicinveins guy straight and he would stop all of his bullshit completely.

you think this ass clown would've learned his lesson after how the situation with the guy who used to run vinyl junkie played out. but no, he's still up to his same douchebaggery. the same MO: lay low for a while so people forget and let their guard down - go on a bid and not pay spree with multiple newly registered user names related to kentucky basketball - get put on blast about being on the prowl - lay low for a while so people forget and let their guard down. this cycle has repeated for years on end now. this guy needs to be be locked up somewhere, the looney bin or a north korean prison. either will suffice.

It doesn't justify it, but there is also no way to know specifically if we are getting 'gouged'. Being that it wasn't repressed by the original label (which has now closed up shop), it's hard to say what costs were involved in the licensing of the album.
In terms of my mindset, I'm ok with it. I don't really like paying 32$ for a 2xLP, unnecesarily marked up or otherwise. But, I would also rather have the album on my shelf for that price than for $150.
I would also have to say that this isn't the worst 'markup' that I've seen. Modern Fidelity's $30 pressing of Weezer - Blue Album seems like a much better example (but once again this falls under the umbrella of not auctually knowing what licensing costs were).

Look buddy, I know that's what it looks like, but I've been on VC for a while just lost my old account. In fact I was part of the VC "label" that received jealous sound LP & falcon 10" which was a huge disaster...getting off point. but as i stated earlier, they charge $5/day to hold stuff and i don't want it in the sun/tent where it'll warp the shit out of the record. In fact, because you're paying the $15, I wasn't even going to charge shipping. Given taht some of these records are going for way more, i think i'm being pretty damn considerate. but if you're going to be a jerk about it, just don't reply.
none of that shit matters. especially considering one of the mods here flat out said if you're going to "help" peole get RSD don't mark it up, to take that bullshit elsewhere.
and it's funny how you throw out several different justifications for being an asshole.

Hey guys, I picked up a copy of Queen "News of the World" the other day and looked it up on discogs today and saw that it is labeled as a promo. It was released the same year as the first pressing so would this be considered a first press as well, or possibly a 0th press if it was an early release promo?
Does anyone know what the promotion was?
