Haha, long story, but I collected retro games for a while, the prices got nuts, I cashed out at major profit, and now I afford my records by flipping stuff I find at garage sales and goodwills/etc. I will be getting a job this summer.

Damn dude, your autobiography is going to be one hell of a hustle story! I got into vinyl when I shorted stocks when i was 18-19 then bought tons of vinyl then sold the vinyl later and bought a car  The best job I had when I was your age was cutting grass for the school district, they usually hire kids your age for the summer and its a pretty rad job if you got an iPod and know how to weed whack!

I'm actually excited for the first time in years for the holidays!

 

Although there is no snow, I'll get to spend it with my boyfriend's niece and nephew, both still little, and seeing that magic in their eyes will be just as good as remembering what it was like at that age

I like the idea of Christmas trees looking all pretty, but I can only get fake ones cuz allergies. That being said, there won't be one this year because we're traveling.

Why can't the vinyl boards have threads for hype. I can see album announcements on label sites or pitchfork or any number of music blogs/sites. I enjoy the discourse. People talked about the music/band/album for a while before it was derailed, and they've started again.

 

Arbitrary rules about "you can only make a thread once a date has been announced" is pretty dumb when you know a vinyl release is coming, and a thread will be made anyway.

Booooo. Christmas trees are fun! Then you get to throw them out the window when you're done with them and watch them rot in the lot behind your building for months.

I've always wanted a real christmas tree but I barely clean up after myself, let alone a tree?! 

For the first time ever there is no Christmas tree where I'm living.

Yea i went HAM on my Evan stuff but eventually sold most of my vinyl off after i graduated......1300 records was a little excessive. Especially with work and business traveling haha. My Pro-Ject is used more for a laptop stand than a record player

good luck on your hunt, I think my max I paid was $25 for the first X-Ray Spex single Australian press with alt artwork. I felt kind of dumb at the time but it just sold on discogs for like $52 so I feel better about it now.
