Well they still care about wins for pitchers and I think BA is a much more telling stat for a batter than wins are for a pitcher. They have not leaned heavily on Wins in the last few years. Felix Hernandez won last year with a 13-12 record while CC Sabathia won 21 games and finished 3rd in AL Voting. Zach Grienke won the year prior with a 16 win season. Tim Lincecum won in the NL that year with 15 wins. The BBWAA have done an improved job of understanding pitching metrics.

yeah that was all about team performance, although there still are members of the BBWAA that are dumb enough to care about average

some things 1. MLB is pitching heavy right now. Offense is at a premium. The NL's league ERA is the lowest since '92. The AL's is the lowest since 1981. Motherfucking '81. There is plenty of great pitching in the league, both as starters and middle relievers. 2. I dont really see the downside of making the game more tactical and using more of your roster. The bench & bullpen should be more than an injury reserve. Managerial moves should matter beyond filling out a lineup card 30 minutes before the game. 3. realignment is more about dollars than competitive balance. Small market teams in Central and Western divisions want more of those home games featuring Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Cubs, etc. Having an NBA esque schedule would give a financial bump to each team in the league annually.

I love when videogame fans declare superiority amongst 2 unreleased products. Objectivity is like krypton. figured i should expand on this. BF3 looks amazing, but the console version will not look like that (which is all that matters to me), secondly quality MP balance, pace, replayability and sheer enjoyment matter more to me than Single Player campaign eyegasms. That is where this competition takes place, for the most part. Because of that MW3 has a headstart but the title has near completely new production. Sledgehammer has never been expected to create a title like this, nor support one. The decion makers at IW have created Respawn and we have no idea what is left as a development team and support structure. If MW3 doesnt continually patch and rebalance its game a la DICE or Treyarch, they will do serious damage to the franchise. Either way, Im totes gonna be playing that Halo CE HD remake. I dont think 343 can fuck it up that much, just give me a 3 shot pistol and let me hook up my old egg timer for Ovie and Camo.
