Chill out. I'm a dick, no surprises there. But that doesn't make this thread worthwhile or interesting. I forgot that people get way to butthurt in this forum. I'll see myself out and go back to the Everything Else section.

Just remember "worthwhile or interesting" is relative. I click on <10% of the threads in this section for a reason--they're not interesting to me. Honestly, I'm not super interested in this one either, but I stopped by to see the comedy that is people like you stopping by to hate on it!

Side note: This is an absolutely textbook Message Board topic. The VC Board is pretty non-standard when it comes to type of threads. We stick almost solely to PO's and specific record promotions (with a few exceptions), but most boards are at least half rants, etc. That's what online message boards are [half] for!

Help me out guys. I received a ton of points today from working with the company for a year. Combined with my discount, I can get about 10 records for completely free, so I figured I could buy some stuff I normally wouldn't purchase to try out. (If I hate it, I'll sell it super cheap on here, no worries)

I'm still relatively new to the vinyl world, so I've already selected some classics/must haves (specifically "The Walking Wounded", "Tell All Your Friends" and "Sunbather", and considering finally grabbing Jane Doe) but the rest is totally up for selection.

Yeah try the Alt-J for sure. I've heard great things about Daughters but haven't listened. I'd also say throw in a Modern Baseball or The Front Bottoms if they're still on there. Very Max Bemis influenced but more... new? young? I dunno, just listen!

I'll ask like I do all the time. Anyone wanting to sell a huge fan either of the colored copies? Missed out like an idiot because I was on VC hiatus. I have both black copies but would love to get the others!

I tried to email Razor & Tie to get pressing info.  Only email address I found on there website in the about section was:

I'm not quite sure that's who I need to be talking to, but it's been about a week and no response.  Any other ideas of who/where to ask?

 

Also, Corey Brandan was tweeting about their new "banana marble" variant he called it, I asked where to get it and he replied simply "our merch table."

I asked a member of the band last Friday if they new how limited it was or if they had any info. The guy just knew it was vinyl and cream colored. Haha.

Funny how detailed some musicians get (i.e. Sam Means) and how apathetic/oblivious some are to the fan side of vinyl.

You mean the same show from the DVD? Definitely not, that was in 2011. In 2012 they toured with the Magik Magik Orchestra and then did some festival dates and amphitheater shows. If it's not one of the shows with the MMO then that is honestly a huge missed opportunity. That was one of the best and coolest shows I have ever seen.

Oh okay. Sounds awesome either way then. I live in Bellingham so that would've been awesome, but it sounds like these MMO shows were killer. Here's to hoping it's that!

watched the video for sword in mouth today... reminded me how awesome that song and this album are, but not impressed with the video. maybe it's just because i watch so many high budget videos all the time with my wife. whatever!

Definitely liking this album. Kicking myself for not getting into them back in the day. Not really sure why. It's weird "discovering" The Walking Wounded years after it came out as a 27-yr-old, but still seeing its merit. Super good stuff.

So I contacted Kung Fu and they said the website doesn't allow for Media Mail because there's no way to differentiate item type. They'll be changing their site within the year. So, until then, she said you can select Media Mail by noting it in the comments section of your order. Complete the order and they'll adjust it for you down to Media Mail pricing. As long as you're just ordering the LP, that is.

I was thinking that too, but I feel like represses don't show up in local shops very often. They're so much more about new releases. There's a massive Everyday Music in Bellingham, but they hardly every get stuff like this outside of RSD. I dunno. Hopefully I'm wrong.

If anyone is willing to sell their limited/colored version of either LP for near cost, I'm your guy. I've been waiting for this release for years and it just caught me during an unexpected VC hiatus. Luckily, I did get the black versions, but I want those colored so bad. Help a fellow VC member out?

First Lonely Forest album was on Trans records, Chris from Death Cabs label.

Yeah! It's a NW Washington connection. Chris went to Western Washington University here in town (Bellingham) and The Lonely Forest is from Anacortes about a half hour south. I'm still new to The Lonely Forest, but I can't wait to see them live sometime.

Been listening to a lot of The Lonely Forest new album recently, who sounds a lot like Manchester from time to time. Got me pumped enough to blindly order this even though I didn't listen to simple math.
