How much were they selling My Bloody Underground for?
-
Reckless Records has their RSD leftovers on www.reckless.com but you have to search for what you're looking for, there's no list.
Thanks so much. Finally found a store selling The Heads online. Now to just hope they actually have stock.

I'm about an hour outside of Toronto, but love going downtown record shopping when I can. Suprised nobody mentioned Vortex Records 2309 Younge Street, Second Floor. They have a solid relationship with Third Man Records (only store in the country to get copies of the Dead Weather Triple Decker!) and usually have a decent RSD sale.
Yonge is a bit out there, but that sounds promising, will have to check it out.
It's Yonge and Eglinton and is easily accessible by subway. It's not walking distance like the rest of them, but worth the trip.
And I don't care about relationships with stores per se, but it's nice to have a store that will special order in titles for you without issue. But with pretty much everything available online, this has become less necessary.

I will buy a couple extras and sort out trades later.
-
And if you wanted the split red/white LP you should have acted faster. This guy (http://apexrecords.net/) was selling them for $18.99 when I bought my copy last week. Apparently inflation has taken effect.

Montreal has 3-4 good shops I've been to, but besides the aforementioned Cheap Thrills I can't recall them. There were definitely 2 better ones I went to.
Even though I already have original Canadian and UK pressings of this, I'll likely be a sucker and buy another.

Probably spend the day walking around checking out a bunch of places in Toronto. Start at Sunrise (shitty, but open the earliest), then Kops, Rotate This, both Sonic Booms and lastly check out Vortex. I figure after the first or second I should get the RSD titles I want, the rest will be checking out the sales.
-
The UK list has the two releases I really want, Moon Duo and The Heads. Although I know the Moon Duo will be released in the States at a later date, and The Heads stuff will be available in limited quantities here, but is not on the official list.

If I wasn't going to another show I would. There is a chance I end up passing by the El Mo tonight, and if they let me in without a wristband and not paying cover to buy it, I can try. No guarantees.
That would be killer man! If you do end up getting it, I'll pay a bit extra for the hassle!
Sorry, almost ended up heading that way, but alcohol brought me somewhere else.
-
If anyone going to the Dine Alone Showcase in Toronto tonight wouldn't mind get me the Great Bloomers 7", it would be much appreciated.

I registered a new account when I had the tickets in my cart.

Asheville and Detroit pre-sales this morning sold out in under a minute. All pre-sales now sold out I believe.
I managed to snag a pair of 2nd row centre seats for Detroit...can't wait!
-
I'll be going to the Detroit show, provided I can score tickets tomorrow.
-
Also, if anyone comes across a US site selling the Hey Jane 7", and could post here, that would be appreciated. I just found it on the UK Domino site but haven't ordered it yet.

Amen to that. Sonic Boom had a good selection last year (and they are down the street from me), plus the location in Kensington should spread where people go.
Vortex also seems to get a decent number of titles in and are also on the subway line.
I've never heard of Vortex, I'll have to look it up, and my problem with SB is they can drift towards being overpriced quite often. The dual locations actually presents a bit of a problem as far as stock allocation goes I'd think though? I'll talk to my friend who works there and see if each store gets a separate lot or it's split between.
I fully agree Sonic Boom is overpriced and why I never buy new stuff from there. Last year I managed to go to Criminal at midnight, Sunrise at 8 (also overpriced, but they get a lot and it's open early), and Sonic Boom at 10. This year there is very little that interests me so I'll like sleep in and roll over to SB at 10 and pay a slight premium for sleep.

I miss Criminal Records.

It's for charity and it will still sell out. I have no problem with over-pricing stuff if it is to benefit others.

Love the fact that I appear to be the only one excited about the Wool release. Should make getting it pretty easy. How the hell did that release get arranged?

This deserves a bump today. Has everyone watched "Stop Kony" yet? If so, do it!
Everyone, if you have not watched this yet you need to.
And then read this (http://www.reddit.com/r/DAE/comments/qlqzd/am_i_the_only_one_who_is_suspicious_about/) and do your own research on the organization. Can't just take the YouTube video at face value.

Looks like their shipping charge to the US is 7.50 GBP (roughly 11 USD), which is the same rate I was being charged for a 7". So it might not be that bad for ordering LPs.
-
Just a note, shipping itself wasn't $22. The 7" itself was 9-10 bucks, so the shipping was $12-13. If enough people email them, FB message, twitter post about the cost, they might act on it. They never got back to me when I was trying to order.
-
Went to check how much shipping from the states would cost only to find its in the UK!!!!!!
Wooooooooooo!
Unfortunately their shipping to North America is extremely excessive. Missed out on a limited 7" they carried because after shipping it was something like $22 for a single. And they never responded to any messages via email, Facebook, twitter.

Does anyone live near the Nashville store that could pick me up a tri-color of the new Jack White single? I got mine in the mail today and held my breath while opening it like every other time and was saddened like every other time.
I live near Nashville and I'll be picking one up for myself, if it weren't only 1 per customer, I'd be happy to pick one up for ya.
bring some friends, hook me up at a reasonable price, and try and get that 7" you want press funded
(hoping that it is you that posted about that)
Post-drunk edit: &' should have read 7"

I'm just super excited for the White Hills / Sleepy Sun tour in April.
Blur Box set

I just ordered the box from Amazon.co.uk. The quoted price was 158GBP, but when I added it to my cart it went in at 130GBP and I was charged 3 for shipping. Converted to CAD, the box is $215. Beats the $320 they want on Amazon.ca. Provided the Canadian dollar doesn't tank and I get crushed on duty, I doubt I find it cheaper.
Then again, it looks like I could just buy them all separately and pay the same price (if not less).
