Another cheap Canadian option at Sunrise...$21.99

I think the slow sales initially have resulted in the price dropping. One store on Facebook just posted:
"Our distributors have dropped the price on the new Alice In Chains Record. Price was $54.97, new price is $29.97! Preorder is available."

It's not an official press release, but Music Direct seems to have most of her Island Records LPs set for re-issue on June 21. The price is steep on all of them, but I suppose it beats eBay prices.
Does anyone have any other info? I didn't see another topic on them.

I've been a Vault member since the beginning.
16 x $60 = $960
I'm gonna be sick.
Anybody else?
I've been a member since Day 1 as well. Considering the 16 packages I have, I could likely make all that cash back or at least close to it. And I've also gotten free stuff from being a member, like that limited Black Belles absinthe LP which I could likely get some money for. All worth it in the end to me.

How about a referral discount for those 15 orders for any other leftovers you may get in?

For anyone still looking, this small shop in Ontario just put up their stock, they have 1 copy left.

Anyone come across the Mad Season 2xLP? Can't locate one.
Store in Toronto had a bunch, they might still. It was $32 so I passed myself.
-
Yeah vortex hasn't really listed anything I want to get. Gonna hit up Kops tonight after a couple of beers and see if If they will give me some ideas of what they got. Rotate or Sonic Boom won't in anyway do that.
I think it's a good thing for stores to say what is there or not so you know where to line up
Soundscapes has posted what they received in on their website. I might end up there at some point if I can't find everything elsewhere.

I will be at Sunrise at Yonge and Bloor for 9AM tomorrow. Vortex didn't get anything I wanted in besides Mad Season and Nick Cave. Judging from Sunrise's photos, they only got in Tame Impala which I'd want, but I'll check it out anyways. I imagine most of the stuff I want will be available online readily after the fact though, don't see them being big sellers.
-
Although Sunrise is overpriced, I'll still end up there, because they get the most crap in. Also handy to use a Sunrise card to get in an hour earlier. I bought one years ago and each year scrub off the expiry date and add a year on. They never question it.

shiiiiiiii+! cheapest Euro shipping from SSD is 46 bucks! I usually check to see the shipping difference between my U.S. and German address to see if it's worth it to send overseas or ship domestic and have to wait sometimes well over half a year, before I can pick it up. Sometimes the extra 10 or 15 bucks is worth it depending on what it is... but... $46! Holy Shitstage!
Amazon de has it for about 10 bucks less (counting exchange, in U.S. dollars), also including their free shipping, so obviously its a no-brainer on where I pre-order from, just guess I will do without one of the special 1500 to have it in hand as opposed to shipping to where I have to wait to pick it up...
Wait for Picadilly Records. They always get the limited coloured versions, and are UK based, so shipping should be much more affordable. I know ordering from Picadilly and shipping from the UK to Canada is cheaper than SSD and the US to Canada.

The catalogue number (MOVLP800) brings up a bunch of random European stores that have also added it recently. And it would seem to fall in line with where MOV would be with their catalogue numbers (although about 70 releases seemed to be skipped, though their releases aren't always in perfect sequential order).
-
I would only ever go to rotate.
I go to Vortex first, because they will hold stuff for their customers on the specialty mailing list they know that confirm to buy the titles they hold.
That allows me to get what I really want and sleep in. From there I will check out Rotate, Kops and maybe Sonic Boom depending on what time it is. Vortex typically has the best prices in the city and are the best to deal with, they're just a bit out of the way.

Matador updated with details of the indie exclusive:
- Standard Dbl LPs include the album on two 150 gram discs playing at 45rpm.
- Limited Edition Indie Exclusive LPs on two 150 gram discs playing at 45rpm and featuring an alternate colored cover.
- Limited Edition Deluxe Dbl LPs include the album on two high-quality 180 gram discs playing at 45rpm and housed in an ultra thick cover and containing a 20 page 12x12 book. -
Got this email back from Matador regarding the indie exclusive:
"The Indie version will not have any extra music. It will most likely be along the lines of a different cover, maybe color vinyl. Nothing crazy, just an incentive for indie record stores."
-
I have a feeling it will be a couple/few extra songs
I doubt they would re-master, cut, engineer, etc the LP and only charge a buck more for it if they put bonus songs on it. Maybe a 7" but even then only a buck more doesn't seem enough. A limited colour variant seems most likely.
-
You can add Trent Reznor, Alex Turner, Mark Lanegan and James Lavelle as guests.
Plus Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters and Elton John.
-
yeah I'm way into the 45rpm thing, but wonder if the 180g are that too, since that comes with a big ol book that would be ultimate. man, I cannot express how excited I am for this, I love the hell out of these guys.
EDIT: I also heard that Dave Grohl and Nick Oliveri were gonna be on this one again, does anyone know if they are just guest spots or something or if that ever was the case?
Grohl drums on the whole album, Jon Theodore does some of the drumming and appears to be their new live drummer. Oliveri just did a guest spot.

Ordered this morning, looking forward to it. If the Sub Pop 7" copy is under 10 bucks, I'll likely grab that too. Looking forward to seeing them live at the end of the month.
-
I want the hot sauce, poster and LP, maybe the CD if they must, but none of the other stuff. I'd be willing to pay a bit extra for all that, but because the bundles are so poorly organized, I'll end up just buying the LP only.

I was told that they will have them in stock next week.
Ordering from Picadilly is $36 CAD shipped for this, cheaper than Soundstage before shipping costs. I see Soundstage has free shipping over $30, so it might not matter that much, but for Canadians it's better ordering from Picadilly.
Even if local Toronto shops get the coloured copy in, I doubt they price it under $35 (seeing what they charge for other MOV titles), so after tax, ordering from the UK is still cheaper.
-
I just ordered from Picadilly in the UK. As a Canadian, I'm pretty sure it might even be cheaper paying for shipping from the UK now than it is to have stuff shipped from the States.

Boots are pretty east to spot for DS, most, if not all boots are 12"s, whereas the originals are all 10"s.

Ended up picking up the Psychic Ills standard issue....I just cant shell out $30 for an album that is virtually the same Wax, Cover, Weight ect...and just has a extra outer sleeve!...if they were a little cheaper...but an extra 10-12 for a sleeve is starting to get to me! Dont get me wrong ive order them before and maybe will...again...but I have to really really like the band!
anyway...the psychic ills album is fantastic! their best work so far!!!
The deluxe issue I received came with a poster (not the nicest, just the album cover), but also a bonus 7" of non-album tracks.
The Third Man Records Thread

I'm currently in Nashville for work and will be going to Third Man this weekend. I really want to record something, but I don't play music and feel I'll end up spending 15 bucks to record my silence.
