  1. One guy bought four of these. I'm assuming they're not that limited or they'd put a cap on how many you can buy. Could be wrong though. I just want the record, but I'm not paying $50. Maybe the deluxe editions are signed. Since we paid almost four times the amount. Awesome.

I got mine through the ticket presale and you were limited to 2 copies with your order. Wish I had gotten another one now.. This one is signed too and it's a different color than the standard pressing.

  2. someone trying to "generate some cash" from something that, for the most part is readily available....and I'M the ass?

    sounds about right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the tour exclusive variant isn't that readily available. You had to preorder with the tickets or go to the show to get it. Since the US tour ended Friday, I'd say that they just became (unless you live in the UK near where they are touring) pretty un-readily available.

And telling me what I paid for a record did seem somewhat unnecessary.

  3. Correct me if i'm wrong, but usually when you preorder something through amazon, they don't actually charge you until the day it ships. All the preorder did was give them a scale of demand, not funds.

That's pretty much only amazon. Most labels and distros charge upfront. The best example of why its a bad idea using preorders to fund the pressing is MTS pressing TOYPAJ. That's the kind of shit you get into if you aren't careful.

  4. RSD was designed to help struggling brick and mortar stores by creating an event that would encourage collectors to come out to actual stores. It's not a perfect system. In fact as its grown its actually become a pretty fucking weak excuse for big label commercialism to disguise itself as "indie". That coupled with a shitty culture of elitism that puts smaller stores in jeapordy of missing out has made RSD something that gets a lot of hate. But it's still designed to get people out to stores. I think with a few adjustments it could be awesome again, but letting people buy stuff online is a step in the wrong direction.

  5. I'd forgotten all about that jokester. He's probably living under a bridge in a shack made from jackets of all the unsold Gatsby's vinyl he's sitting on.

haha.. i feel for the guy having not sold as many as he thought he could.. glad he did it though as I spin both of them regularly.. wish he could do the rest

  6. haha people will really complain about ANYTHING on this board...

People will flame unnecessarily about ANYTHING on this board. I don't think a bunch of scribbles all over the cover of my LP qualify as complaining about just ANYTHING. Just saying I didn't know it was going to happen. I liked the way Andy did the RAGC set, just a small sig in the bottom right corner on the back by the numbering. I personally feel autographs that take up that much space on the front of my record take away from the album art. If I were to get an autograph a) it would mean something because it would have the connection of me actually getting the sig. and b ) i would get them to sign the insert. Mind your fucking business unless you have something constructive to add.
