I echo this entirely. I like them, but I'm not *in* like with them.
Knowing myself, however, I will probably pick this up.
Yeah, mere minutes after posting I preordered the fucking thing. I'm a sucker. The new song is solid though.
-
Really tempted to get this. I like these guys, but I rarely have the urge to listen to them.
-
I love all of Wes Anderson's films, but this is the kind of thing that I'd buy for the novelty more than anything else. I doubt I'd ever really listen to the soundtracks, because for me they're so linked to the films and imagery that I might as well just watch my Blu-rays.
-
Got mine yesterday, stoked to have Acts I & II finally. Not a fan of the new artwork, but whatever. I paid for all three by selling my original Act III on Discogs, so I have no complaints!
-
Speechless was a pretty decent Lady Gaga tune a couple of years back. It could be that.
Believe will definitely be Cher and Beautiful is Christina Aguilera.
A quick ITunes search shows Top of the World by Carpenters and Bridget Mendler - I'd go with the second.
Thanks for the input! I looked on Wikipedia for "Top Of The World" and it came up with lots of possibilities, and I couldn't figure out which one it was most likely to be: Brandy, Dixie Chicks, Pussycat Dolls, Diana Ross, or Bridget Mendler.

Tried to get all the original artists on the tracklist, not sure on some of them.
Hopefully there's a tour in the works, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm excited for this, but these guys seem like perfect candidates for a boxset. I've held off on buying most of their albums for just that reason.

Everyone's favorite punk supergroup cover band is back with their first new full length in almost 8 years, with the theme of songs by divas this time around. Due out May 13, 2014.

Got this on Saturday and was worried I might have a case of buyer's remorse on this since I havent listened to it in years. I'm happy to say it didn't happen and this album has held up incredibly well. Glad I bought it.

They kinda are...I still dig it, but you make a good point.
I've seen them live several times, and every time it strikes me just how little I actually know their music, despite listening to them pretty often. But I like them. So I snagged the color yesterday, along with Bad Cop/Bad Cop, which I'm way more excited for.
-
Snagged this along with the new Bad Cop/Bad Cop 7".
New song is rad. Sounds like it could have been on Heart Beats Pacific, and that's just fine by me.
-
Yeah, I like the blue better too, but that red with the clear looks pretty rad.
-
Woke up to a shipping notification. Very excited to have this in hand!
-
Care to elaborate? haha...
I remember reading about this when it happened...

Let's be honest though. Everything Sucks sounded like shit.
Totally. Only way I'd own that is if it was part of a RBF boxset.
-
They rerecorded half of their first shitty sounding album once but that's about it.
Not to be that guy, but they rerecorded almost their entire first album over the course of their career. Half of it ended up on TTRO, a couple of songs on WDTRSH ("Big Star" and "I'm Cool"), and a few more on Monkeys For Nothin'... ("Hate You", "Call You", "Why Do All Girls Think They're Fat?", and "I'm Her Man"). Only 5 of the songs from Everything Sucks have not been redone.
-
OOOHHHH SHIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT!!!
This album changed my life, no joke. I'm buying the shit out of this, and hopefully this means more RBF is on the way!
-
I think the fact that the band's broken up now probably has bumped the price up a bit too, as people are less likely to sell off their copies.
-
They mentioned it was about to drop when I saw them last week. I'm all over this. Eric (bass) said that they wanted to do the album in a gatefold 7" but the record company shot them down.
Who do they think they are, Rancid? That Epitaph money is going to their heads...
Admittedly, if that preorder had come with some sort of sporting equipment, I would have been all over it.
-
Got the T-shirt bundle - vinyl for me, shirt for my fiance. I usually don't go for the bundles, but she looooooves Chuck Ragan.
-
Snagged a splatter! Great way to start off my work day! These dudes are my faves.
-
Yeah, I'm reserving judgment until I hear the song in context with the rest of the album. On its own, I don't really care for it.

We’ll release Banner Pilot’s fourth full length, Souvenir, on April 15th! Back at the helm is producer Jacques Wait (Prince, Off With Their Heads, Soul Asylum) over at The Terrarium. Souvenir displays a touch of Banner Pilot’s musical influences like Jawbreaker, Superchunk and early Replacements, but showcases their evolution into a more complex band compositionally. True to their Midwestern pop sensibilities,Souvenir shines with hooks both instant and subtle, melded into sturdy song structures and braided together with Banner Pilot’s signature introspective lyrics. Containing twelve well-rounded tunes, Souvenir exhibits a perfect amalgamation of the band’s two previous albums, Heart Beats Pacific and Collapser. Bassist and songwriter Nate Ganglehoff details how Souvenir took its shape:Looking back over the process of making this album, one thing that jumps out at me is how bad the first songs we wrote for it were. They sounded like us, I guess, but more like a half-hearted cover version of us. The same chords and melodies you’d expect, but missing…. something. I remember listening to them one evening in the dead of winter while I was outside shoveling snow, bitter winds whipping into my face, slick ice tripping up my feet, and thinking, “I hope every single thing I’m experiencing at this moment is better by the spring.”
We could have just shrugged and rolled with them, I guess, but I’m glad we were a little stubborn and kept plugging away, looking for something better. We scrapped what we had, hunkered down over the rest of the winter, spending many hours at our practice space, or in front of our respective computers, tinkering around with new ideas. We didn’t overthink anything; we just tried idea after idea after idea until something would stick. And the tunes did start to get better. Not only was it rewarding to start to develop songs that didn’t sound like complete horse crap, it was also fun. They started to feel like the songs you get excited to play live, and it reminded me of what’s so great about being in a band in the first place.I’m really happy with how it turned out. I think that in the end we stuck to the things we do well, but varied them a little without messing them up. And I think the attitude of “Let’s keep trying to make this better” paid off.Order up here: http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/925

Dammit, I missed the color yesterday. If anyone gets it and decides they don't want it, I'll take it. Not looking to get a shirt I'll never wear.
