This just arrived in my inbox...
Hello,
Thank you for your patience while we waited for the replacement vinyl of act 3 to be repressed. We just wanted to give you a heads up that we have received them in and will be shipping these out to you starting today and Monday.

Yeah, thanks for checking on that. I still have the email in my inbox, was about to follow up on it soon if I didn't hear something.

I'm a little late to the party, but man was that song fucking awful. I'm officially done with this band (which I've said before, but this time I mean it!). And that track list does indeed look like IDOTG 2.0. This shouldn't be a Say Anything album, but that's mostly because I think these guys should have hung it up a few albums ago.

No offense to you and I hope you to get a copy, but I damn sure hope that the white/clear is sold out along with every other copy of this record because this release is phenomenal and everyone's gotta hear it.
So, you want it to be unavailable so everyone can hear it. Got it.
(jk I know what you mean)

Those kinds of press releases are hilarious. Like "hey, we know everyone likes our old stuff better, so we're gonna pander to them."
That said, I haven't loved anything they've done since Life Won't Wait. I've liked songs here and there, but they haven't put out a great album in over 15 years. Yet I'm still excited to hear this. Because I'm apparently a glutton for punishment.

Could really see this being purple.
I hope it's orange, for short.

Been listening to this the past few days, and while I really like it, it's easily my least favorite album of theirs. Really though, disappointing Menzingers is better than most bands' best.

After snagging a copy of Squirrel Nut Zippers' The Inevitable for a very reasonable price, I've rediscovered how much I love that band and would love to get my hands on Hot and Perennial Favorites.

This is up!!! Along with Uke Hunt, and the new Less Than Jake and Sundowner 7".

Mine says it shipped yesterday!

I'll pick this up when it hits clearance. Considering the first two albums haven't sold out yet, I expect this will be available for a looooong time.

So glad these got individual releases, just preordered the hell out of Crisis. Kinda glad I didn't get the first pressing of the boxset now.
-
pressed at 45rpm? So it'll be a 2LP?
Yes, as mentioned in the first post of this thread.

They re-recorded this record?
Not exactly. They did a greatest hits album a couple years ago called A Best Of Us For The Rest Of Us. The pre-Monkeys For Nothin' masters were still owned by their old label, who refused to give them up. So the band re-recorded a bunch of the old tracks to include on the album, which included like 5-6 songs from TTRO.

Also Art Of The Underground. Ordered 3x 5 for $5 7" bundles and the package got lost in the mail twice. Alex Kerns kept in contact constantly, kept asking if my package arrived and sent me a third package, and the last one finally came. Good d00d good label.
I'm having the complete opposite experience right now. Ordered the Gordon Gano's Army LP from them a month ago and haven't received it yet. Emailed last week asking what's up, no response. I just filed a PayPal dispute today.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm in!

I've listened to this several times now and this is easily my least favorite Chuck Ragan album. I feel like his songwriting has taken a step backwards, as most of the songs are really simple. Track 1 is a perfect example of this. It's also overall a bit too twangy for my taste. My fiance loves Chuck, and even she's not sure what to think about this album. Super disappointed in this.

They're not doing any special color with a comic book and DVD like they talked about before...?
The special edition is still coming. They posted this on Facebook along with the Interpunk link to the standard edition...
"STILL SLAVING AWAY AT THOSE COOL-ASS BOX SETS WE KEEP TELLING YOU WILL EVENTUALLY EXIST, BUT IN THE MEANTIME, ORDER YOUR STANDARD-EDITION BRAINLESS GOD VINYL FROM INTERPUNK. BECAUSE IT'S FINALLY HERE. FUCK YOU."
-
Huh, I'm not excited about this at all. I might check out a single or two when they're released, but I just don't care about this band anymore.
-
I got mine Saturday. On the first couple listens, I'm not in love with it. Hoping it grows on me.
-
Sorry to bump without an update on Brainless God, but the band is auctioning off some rare/OOP stuff on Facebook/Twitter. A copy of the Mixtapes split with alternate art (/17) just sold for $190. Nuts.

I've been spinning this a lot the last few days. I really like it, but it's all mid-tempo and overall feels more mellow than their prior albums. Their rowdier stuff is what drew me to this band.

I fought the urge all day yesterday to be "that guy." And at this point, I'm going to assume "first week of May" means "first FULL week of May."
