  1. cool to see the slightly different opinions of every one on these albums....Ten Stories is getting better with every listen, might become my favorite, get on it if you haven't checked it out yet...
  2. "Ten Stories" is amazing, every one needs to check this album out.. Personally I would rank the albums like this: Brother Sister > Ten Stories > It's All Crazy > Catch for us the foxes > A to B Life althought it's pretty hard to decide haha, catch for us... might be higher in that list Love this band!
  3. It's beautiful! The B side has a different label which is more of a grey blue color...
  4. I did receive a shipped email...just shoot them an email, they were pretty good at getting back to me and keeping me in the loop.. this was posted on 5/14 on the burnt toast site: On Vacation "I’m in Scandinavia until 23 May, so mail order shipments will be delayed until I’m back."
  5. Oh serious? Did they send out a shipping email? I ordered like a month a go when it said they still had the old press available. It wasn't but they said I'd get one of the new ones. Hmm. Yeah I was in the same boat, I ordered it when they had like "14 left in stock" but then they did the repress. I got mine the other day, maybe it's just taking longer to ship to you..might as well shoot them an email and inquire though.
  6. Any more news on this? I thought it was meant to be a week or so and that was before last week. I got mine yesterday or the day before I think? But i know Burnt Toast is on vaca. right now so if you ordered recently, it may not be until like next week..
  7. Thanks, got my rebate, that takes some sting out of the shipping price... Hook me up with some positive karma!
  8. If any one wants 10% off follow this link: http://www.curebit.com/x/mye7k It will give me a rebate of 10% off my order, and then you can get the same deal...sweet!
  9. welll....shipping was $17 from CA - CT but it's cheaper than eBay, AND since the LPs are $14.99 this actually came out to almost exactly what I would pay for two $19.99 LP's with a reasonable shipping rate....and it beats the shit out of eBay!
  10. interesting for sure....even more interesting is that Thursday went back to him for the next two full lengths. I wonder if they ever addressed these criticisms in an interview or anything, it'd be an interesting topic to hear their side and Fridmanns..
  11. I'm curious too. The CD really suffers from too much volume during the mastering. lots of unnecessary clipping and distortion. How does this vinyl compare? I don't think it was a mastering issue but I could be wrong... The great Dave Fridmann produced this album - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Fridmann However, as much as I respect Fridmann, I think this album could sound better...if it had been recorded more in the vein of Full Collapse, or just from a producer who had worked with more bands like Thursday it could have sounded better.. It's tough because a lot of it sounds amazing and is most likely a direct result of Fridmann but in certain aspects like the screams, etc. it could have been done differently...Just spit balling here really... straight from the wiki-page: Fridmann often brings a distinctive, expansive, open sound to the albums he produces, which has much in common with that used by Mercury Rev. His albums have been frequently criticised for excessive clipping and loudness war mastering (such as The Flaming Lips' At War with the Mystics and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's Some Loud Thunder).
  12. Speaking of Ohio music, do you listen/know of "Bad Veins" they blew me away when they opened for We Were Promised Jetpacks and I believe they're from Cincinnati?
  13. Mixtapes' debut album is being recorded by Eric Tuffendsam at Moonlight Studios in Cincinnati Ohio and set for release in Spring 2012. "This record is mostly just a culmination of all the things that have happened to us over the past few years," says Rockwell, "it's a mixture of songs dealing with losses, death and hurtful situations, and also a thank you letter to those people who have been here to make life easier. We are recording 21 songs and going to use the best ones for the record." First Pressing 20 Test Pressings (Black) 200 White (Available in 2012 Subscription Series) 300 Bright Canary Yellow 400 Green (Hot Topic Exclusive) 600 Off Blue Pre Order here: http://nosleepstore.com/product/892/even-on-the-worst-nights
  14. Going to see them live tonight. ENJOY! Super bummed I'm missing the LIVE tour again
  15. HAHHA SAM THE GREASY CAVE MAN! Love Lahey, he seems like a good guy from what I've seen... Any rumors floating around of new TPB stuff in the works? Bummed I missed them on the American Tour they're doing right now
  16. weird, I actually live in the city they shot the show in. my buddy lives right next to Bubbles. And I'm just going to wait till the 44 day mark. That's amazing! I'm a huge TPB fan they need to do a reunion and do a season 8 or at least another movie! I need more TPB, although the show never gets old even though I've seen every episode a ton of times haha
  17. Yeah I got the 2x10" at a show last month...what's the deal with the track listing being different?
  18. This was previously available as a 2x10 Inch and now there is a UK press as a full 12 inch... Official release date is 11th June, but the Banquet copies will be shipped at the beginning of May. We're very excited to announce that we are releasing The Front Bottoms' full length in the UK & Ireland. We have nice price CDs and an exclusive UK press LP available for pre-order now. LP comes with immediate download. The Front Bottoms are of the best bands we've heard in years. Based around an acoustic guitar, drums and two vocals, these two school friends have been, in one way or another, a band for years. The New Jersey duo sing intelligent lyrics about love, life, growing up and self doubt, over the greatest of songs. There's touches of Say Anything, The Replacements, Harvey Danger, The Hold Steady and The Get Up Kids, and they've recently toured in America with Dashboard Confessional and Kevin Devine. They straddle the line between indie and punk just brilliantly and this will appeal to fans of all the aforementioned bands but also Banquet faves like Dartz and I Was A Cub Scout. There's something for everyone here, its already a shop favourite and we're sure that this is gonna be worth your time to check out! http://www.banquetrecords.com/KT1030;jsessionid=DB96418B4EDD38B548831F435443077A
