  1. Got my black copy today (tracking said it went through Jersey City!!) Haven't opened it up yet but glad to finally hold it after missing out on peachy at the first night of the tour.
  2. [Ataote name=jhulud" post="2058120" timestamp="1412259479]Of all the shows I've been to in all my years, esp. here in S. Florida, I have to say that the majority of fans of these bands are the worst: Thrice Brand New Co&Ca Absolute worst. Obnoxious and always trying to one-up each other as who is super fan #1. As if the bands give a rat's ass that you know every lyric, have every shirt, own every single precious record (oops, sorry, vinyl), and hit every show since you were 5 years old. FUCK YOU! The crowd at the show in Riverside wasn't too bad, but I am old and there were a lot of young whippersnappers there. I just don't understand how the two people that are taller than me always end up standing directly in front of me. There were also two drunk assholes that kept running back and forth through the crowd for no damn reason. It depends I think more on the venue though, I've had a hard time at House of Blues shows the last few years because everyone is drunk and talking the whole time. Can't even hear the band play over all the noise coming from the bar. I had to leave the floor and go upstairs at a Thrice show at House of Blues in San Diego a few years ago because of drunk idiots jumping around like they were at a 50 cent show. I mostly gave up on band shirts when the whole neon cartoon thing became the style. Again, I'm old. But I'm in the don't wear the headliner's shirt camp.
  3. Sweet, thanks for checking with Pylon. I guess that's a pretty nice surprise then, more rare than the white variant. Amoeba only had 2 or 3 copies using the 1000 in the cart method. Free shipping though. And they packed it like a tank. I haven't listened to it yet, but won't be a good judge of the sound quality or difference compared to the HT pressing (I have tan) due to my shitty TT. Still debating on TAITA, I already have the HT press and two versions of the CD. Gots to pay bills too ya know.
  4. Does anyone know anything about a black variant for this? I just received a copy I ordered from Amoeba and it says Obscure Alternatives and has a 2014 copyright, but it's black. I haven't seen anything about a black version anywhere. I don't really care about the color, just thought it was weird and assumed if would be white since that's all that's left on the Pylon site. Amoeba didn't specify the variant, just the year.
  5. They had Acension & Decension, and the side projects. I saw people with at least 5 copies. The show was great, didn't seem sold out and tix were available earlier in the day. The place was big and spacious, lots of room on the floor and there was seating in the back and in the balcony. Pretty sweet place, but they were not allowing re-entry. People down in front were waving the album around the whole show, I assume trying to protect it. Silly. They sold the last copy to a guy TWO people in front of me. TWO. EVERYONE was buying them. Lots of multiples. They had to have more than 40 available, but not enough for me Placed order for black copy. First world problems.
  6. Bane didn't have their album for several dates at the beginning of their last tour. Just paranoid I guess.
  7. Sorry if this was answered somewhere in the 50 pages of comments but are we assuming the tour variant will be available on all dates even though the pre-order and retail versions aren't available until weeks later? I'm going to the first date on 9/5. If they don't have them and I miss the pre-order I will be sad.
  8. Agreed. Like xtobi-wanx said, it could be glued together. The artwork is great and I like having the lyrics printed inside the gatefold, especially with the personal notes about Wrong Planet. I listened to it today, sounds great.
  9. Got my blue copy from EV/Merchnow a couple days ago, haven't had a chance to listen yet. Looks good but kinda weired that it came in a 2xLP gatefold, so one side is just empty.
  10. Tried foolishly to get this off Kmart's website since they had it listed as a digipak, but arrived as standard jewel case. But I was able to find it on ebay for $10. Totally worth it, awesome packaging and happy to have the liner notes. Thanks again for everyone's help.
  11. Sorry, I don't have a trade list. Still trying to build my collection. Thanks for the offer though. Scan would be awesome. Not willing to part with one?
  12. Was there a digipak release that didn't have the liner note cards? I have the original standard jewel case without them, and the stuff I see on the shady sites says digipak but not deluxe.
  13. Thanks for the offer and the other replies. I wouldn't be able to make you a fair offer, I'm sure you can get quite a bit for the signed copy. I'll look around at record stores, and take the online gamble if needed. Thanks again.
  14. Help me out, I know there was a CD release of TAITA that included special liner notes on individual cards. Is this version still available? I see a digipak for sale on some shady websites for $8, but if it was a limited edition, I have a hard time believing it's still available at that price and new. I would consider buying a used copy with the cards included, but would even be happy if someone was kind enough to scan them and send me an electronic copy. I just like reading the band's comments on the songs. Thanks.
  15. Thanks, I'll check it out. Also interested in opinions on the general quality of the Dual. Where does it stand compared to other turntables?
  16. I have a Dual CS1257 that I paid $100 to repair, but the speed switch was totally busted so it only plays at 33. I have a bunch of 45 stuff I want to be able to play, but I don't want to put any more money into this thing if it's not considered a worthy investment. Any opinions on repairing the Dual vs. picking up something more worthy with the money I don't have?
  17. I'm not new to collecting, but am new to the technical stuff about turntables. I promise I searched for an answer first, but couldn't find anything exact... I have a not good TT, Brookstone USB (help me out, then you can tell me how bad it is). With several records, I hear pitch fluctuation, especially noticeable on long, clean notes, as if the table isn't turning at a constant speed. I don't notice it on every record though, and I can often visibly see the tone arm moving up and down as the record spins, and the records look a little warped, but these are mostly newer records (ie. Full Collapse repress, good quality used copy of Beggars, etc). So what's the issue? Slightly warped records? Terrible TT? Something needs adjusting? My apartment built on a slant? Earth off it's axis??? If I can't figure this out I don't deserve better equipment, help a guy out. On a separate note, I also have a Dual CS1257 that I put $100 bucks in to get in shape, but the speed switch was totally busted so it only plays at 33 1/3. I have a bunch of 45 stuff I want to be able to play, but I don't want to put any more money into this thing if it's not considered a worthy investment. Any opinions on repairing the Dual vs. picking up something more worthy on the money I don't have?
  18. I know this is old news but I just found this thread and never knew that my defective copy wasn't the only one. 5 years later, I emailed Cobraside and they had a new copy of Earth in my mail box within 2 weeks. Unless I got the last one, these are still available. I did have my receipt still in my email so that helped I guess. Thanks Cobraside, excellent company.
