Basically that if people who were receiving the coupon and had hopes of redeeming it in store for vinyl that they shouldn't waste their time.

they offer a promotion where between point A and point B if you spend a certain amount you get a physical hot cash coupon that allows for X amount off of a certain amount (ie: spend 30 you get a 15 off 30, spend 60 get 30 off 60, so on) and then you get a week after it ends to redeem it. so if 99% of the time i shop at hot topic to buy records and i meet the requirements for the promo deal its kinda lame that i can't use it to buy what i shop for there.

what doesn't make sense? buy x amount of stuff that comes to 30 dollars. use 15 off 30 hot cash coupon. leave store. go to a store that carries vinyl. yeah i got this as a gift and i'd like to exchange it or get a store credit.

right away your majesty lock it up. actually this thread didn't happen two months ago. two months ago I went into the store with my hot cash to use the coupon. figured i'd make a thread about the exception so people don't waste their time not realizing it. either way most threads turn into people complaining virtually one way or another. lock it up boys.

I understand they're trying to prevent flipping but it's like hey we're gonna have a promotion where if you spend this much we're gonna give you a coupon to spend on a future purchase. If I'm purchasing vinyl to get said coupon don't you think I wanna spend it on vinyl too? If they really aren't gonna allow on vinyl maybe I'll just buy other shit and return it for store credit and buy vinyl.

I'm on the fence too. They're both nice as hell, but I only need one haha

I understand why too but it's like either someones gonna buy 2 t-shirts and get one free or 2 records and get one free. Is it that much of a loss?

hopefully you're right. i mean the easiest thing for them to have done last time was make it not work for vinyl like it wouldn't for gift cards so people could have still bought shit on the site if they wanted to. i'm hoping it is still good for the stores because it not i might as well just wipe my ass with it now haha

so I was just checking out the 15 off 30 that I just got in the mail last week with my manson/shai hulud order to see what week the redemption was and noticed that on the coupon it actually lists vinyl records as an exception. so last time when the vinyl was removed from the site we could go into the store and use it but this time we can't even do that? what the hell am i supposed to buy? a motionless in white t-shirt? fuck that shit.

same here. weird though, i placed another order an hour before that which shows shipped also and that is still saying info unavailable.

Just got Into It Over It - Twelve Towns from Insound for 13.99 after someone on tumblr messaged me back that they were looking for 50 bucks for it. Copy that just came was black which was a 1st press and now its backordered on there. Sweet.

That seems to be the case with all of the orders of mine that I click. Probably just a problem they're having on their end.

i had already placed an order (all clearance stuff) so i called to ask if i could add something to it but they said cause of the 1.99 shipping i couldn't add (which is weird because you could order so much shit on clearance and it would still be 1.99. so I checked out via paypal and chose the 1.99 shipping and when i reviewed the order it was still there. we'll see if they let it slide.

got my copy today. they usually ship in a bigger mailer and put the records in a thick bubble wrap envelope inside. this time it was a regular mailer and had it together with the shai hulud record and some cardboard inserts. jacket looks good and no warps.

in for a vinyl with 2 minutes to go. thanks for the reminder

I agree, people do pay much more for less cool limited items. I for one at the time didn't feel like spending the 15 bucks. Looks like they have plenty in stock though so maybe I will at some point. For now I have a ticket stub for the memory of being there.
