What's the resale market for TMR vault packages? I actually ask this because I don't want to subscribe to the vault package/don't have the money right now but I really want to buy the Dead Weather album and 7'' in the future. I'm just wondering if the price will just skyrocket and it's just better if I buy it now (saving up whatever pennies that I have).

saw it on the list but haven't seen it listed anywhere ebay included
-
amoeba has their rsd leftovers up. nothing i wanted but a good amount of stuff there
I see Pinback!
-
I figured that this thread should have links to all the sites that are putting up their RSD inventory so as not to be confused with other sites that just have sales of non-RSD items.
-
Got them for friends but they don't want them anymore.
RaRaRiot - Binary Mind 10'' -$18
Chelsea Wolfe/ King Dude - $14
David Bowie Stars - $13
Shipping included in price!
PM me.

throw in a dash of wall-e and portal also
it's not an original movie by any means, but for some reason to me it worked
Interesting movie, but not mind blowing. More of "a great dvd rental than a pay $10 at movie theater to see" movie.

2001 Space Odyssey + Moon + Independence Day + Score from "Sunshine" = Oblivion

I know the law market a couple years back was pretty shitty, I knew a Princeton grad who didn't find anything for awhile.....Then again his family were already millionaires so no rush lol
What law school did he go to and how well did he do? Because Princeton doesn't have a law school.
I am also finishing my junior year of undergrad and planning to pursue law school. Would it be a bad idea to take time off in between to work? I'm already burned out, so I feel that jumping straight in would make it worse and I'd end up leaving. I'd rather recharge for a year or two, while still being productive and making money. I don't think I can handle a job while in law school, unless its not very demanding on hours, so coming in with some money would be very helpful.
The ABA doesn't let students work more than 20 hrs a week anyways.

Update to this story about annoying guy at fingerprints:
So I'm looking at the record store's instagram and this annoying guy is commenting on every single fingerprints photo.
Basically what happened is:
1. Guy waits since 10pm day before for DMB box set.
2. Guy finds out owner is auctioning box set for charity (silent auction style).
3. Guy is pissed off. Proceeds to yell at owner and accuse him of many things.
4. Guy ends up place a bid roughly ~$200.
5. Guy ends up winning the auction.
6. Guy is denied the item as his winning bid is not accepted and is told by manager (owner?) to fuck off.
Good job Fingerprints. You did good. You did good.
Update: Apparently this guy has no life and has created an instagram account intended to hound Fingerprints.

This also. I always wonder why people are standing in line for 3 hours to pick up Joan Jett. Like other people say, people goto these things and dont goto stores any other day of the year. The window for selling a 20 dollar Joan Jett lp is pretty much RSD only. People who frequent record stores weekly know that they can get this for 3 dollars used and will never buy this 20 dollar version
Precisely why the only things I try to get on RSD are new 45s/LPs/EPs. Reissues and Represses are a big no-no to me.

Not always the case at all. In general big stores have lower prices becuase they can buy in volume. Smaller stores may not get those discounts. It's really down to how on top of shit the buyers are and what they end up marking it up.
Right. I just said larger stores can get away with it, not that they all actually do it.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong people, but normally the larger stores get away with marking up the price a little bit (think $5 to $10 more) because they get guaranteed foot traffic whereas the tiny record store usually has to price things cheaper than the larger stores to move inventory.
Obviously if the tiny record store overprices by say 40%+, then they will get no business whatsoever.

As I stated, the prices on Bullmoose are 10% off, so that means the MSRP was actually $29.99. I'm not talking about a few extra bucks when responding here, I want it to be shops that charged 40+ percent over MSRP.
The MSRP price usually already takes into account profit for the store owner.
Understood though about you wanting to take the thread in a more extreme pricing direction.

Bullmoose:
White Stripes - Elephant - $26.97
Fingerprints
White Stripes - Elephant - $34.99

this was my first record store day.
I walked into the store. I pick up the Deftones Live record and the sticker price was 35.99. "i hate record store day," i muttered. and then i left.
I do agree on the prices being much worse this year than last on LPs. Thank goodness I had 0 LPs on my list this year.

But they should not, in my opinion, have ordered an item with a retail value, which customers are expecting to be able to buy for retail, and then denied customers that opportunity after having been lined up under that pretense for hours.
What if APPLE stores did this for every iPhone release? "It's limited guys! Sorry, you gotta bid on it today. But it's cool, right? It's for a charity of our choice!" It creates animosity between consumer and the place of business, which is the antithesis of RSD.
Refer to what nothingnatural says below.
It was one item and it was for charity. And it was shitty Dave Matthews Band of all things. The store did nothing wrong.
To add my two cents, I'm pretty sure Fingerprints did not specifically order just 1 copy of DMB to auction it off. They most likely ordered a few and only got left with 1. Hell, even only Amoeba in Hollywood got 2 copies. Two! So what's the best way to appease everyone and make sure the item gets put in the hands of a fan? Charity auction. Yes, I understand not all fans of DMB can afford inflated prices, but it's better than Fingerprints selling it to whoever was first and that person ending up being a flipper.
You might think it's a "shitty" release, but the customer clearly did not. It was very limited, and the store paid for it from the distributor with what was most certainly the understanding it was being sold on RSD to a customer at retail. Not being sold in an auction.
If RSD released albums for FREE to stores and stipulated they must be auctioned for charity, that would be a different story. But you go on the RSD website, and this is a retail event. To support retail in general. It should not be up to the discretion of one store owner to turn it into an auction for their personal or political agendas, no matter how well intentioned it may be.
If it was a record you had waited for overnight, you'd be singing a different tune.
Many record stores do the whole charity auction thing with rare RSD releases. It's nothing new and I'm sure the RSD promoters would support it.
Now you say "it should not be up to the discretion of [the] one store owner." Ideally, yes. But this is reality where store owners hold items for people and do all sorts of things. This is the name of the record game. Just because you got in line first doesn't mean you are entitled to anything. You are the customer at the end of the day, not the person who owns the product.
If it was the record I wanted and waited for overnight, of course I'd be pissed. But I'd suck it up like a man and find other ways to get it (including participating in the charity auction).
All you whiners are such noobs to the record store game. Missing out on a limited edition record because the store owner wanted to keep it, sell it to someone else, do something else with it, etc is so common and happens on the other 364 days of the year.

Great prices
I know! With shipping, I'm basically paying the same amount as I am at my local record store if I had to drive to there and waste gas monies.

What's the shipping costs? Do you accept paypal?

I assumed it would stay at $60 or go down even further because of oversaturation of flippers who stock up on the vault package. No?
