PO now: Barrows - "Red Giant" Instrumental PostRock, PostMetal from LA

Recommended Posts

OK, here's one for the DIY LA postrock band Barrows, whose debut, "Imprecari Island" in 2011 can be heard

and pay what you you want here:  http://barrowstheband.bandcamp.com/

This band is not "Explosions..." copycats, and though young, I believe have excellent chops. Maybe not Slint prodigies, but still solid listen. Starts off heavy and lightens up a bit until the closer.

So... the VINYL...right! They started taking PO's this week, and I can't remember if Black vinyl or Red (I will try to find out and update).  Here's their store on Big Cartel and they tweeted they are streaming the album on Spotify, but I don't do Spotify:

"Not that some big-time name-dropping should impact your appreciation of the music, but in the event it gets just one more person to give this track a chance: the album was produced by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Tool) and Dale Crover (Melvins) and mastered by Chris Common (Palms, Pelican). Clearly Barrows have fans in high places."
