New Needle vs. New Turntable - advice requested

Recommended Posts

So, the turntable I'm working with at the moment is a Sony PSLX300USB (I know, I know). My girlfriend & I just dropped a little under $600 on a receiver and new speakers, so we're not in the market for an upgrade yet, but I'm planning on upgrading to a new turntable eventually.

I found this - a $79.95 hyperelliptical stylus that fits the TT I currently have:

Looking for advice; should I drop the $80 now on upgrading the needle, knowing that within a year or two, I'll be getting a new table anyway, or just start squirreling money away for the whole turntable upgrade later on?
