Battra
For some reason, in my head, it seemed that 7" were EPs along with 2 track singles. Am I completely wrong on this?

Am I completely wrong on this? I'll bite (mostly because I'm bored AF on a 10 hour shift). Due to their smaller size 7" records are predominantly used for 2 track single releases as they cannot fit as much music as their 12" counterparts. That being said 7" EPs do exist for bands who's material is on the faster end of the spectrum but the overwhelming majority of 7" records are singles with no more than one song per side. Most EPs these days will wind up on a 12" or 10". 12" singles are also not uncommon as these are a staple of the old school analog DJ crowd. Roandy55
I thought this was a pre-order.

In my mind, it seemed to me that a 7" 45 could hold 8-9 minutes of music per side. I have one that has 6 songs, but they're shorties! 27 minutes ago, Roandy55 said: I thought this was a pre-order. I have an EP that has 6 songs, total run time of like 9 minutes. It also occurred to me that this could be the exception to the rule, so I asked a question. Sorry for doing so. The facts you presented provide enough information to come to the correct conclusion. Sometimes you you need to just use a little critical thinking. I'll change the subject for simplicity. Previously all duct tape I had used was silver. Today I used green duct tape. Would you make a thread about this situation or just understand that duct tape can come in any color, but normally it's silver?
the industry
You can fit more songs on a 7" by cutting it to 33rpm. That will give you about 8.5 min. / side
