faith
Only test I've played is my BTMI - Goodbye Cool World Just to see if it was the rejected one or not. TP's are collection items only to me. i don't care if you think i'm stupid
momentumlost
ive owned 2 tests and sold off one...ive played them...to see if they were rejects or onot... i had gottan the explosion Sick of Modern Art as a test for CHEAP in hopes i could listen to it but it was a reject...so i wound up getting a real copy for almost double what the test cost me. (you folks can do the math) and i had a FOB - Take This To Your Grave test..i played it twice...once to see if it was a reject and once cause i was lazy and it was on my turntable after that first spin. i sold this one off to help pay moving expenses. jaggedthoughts
test pressings to me are equivalent to a cd-r copy of a master. there is nothing great about them. there is typically no art and most people don't even play them. I understand the rarity aspect of it but it still seems silly to me. I guess I not that obsessed with owning multiple copies of the same album. to each his own. seems to be a good thing for labels these days though. pressing and extra 20-30 tests and sell them for 2-3 times as much as the finished release is a quick way to reimburse some of the pressing costs.
