bicyclepirate
Does anyone know why some 2LP records made in the 70s have one record with side 1 and side 4 on it, and the other with sides 2 and 3? This annoys me to no end, and I can't make any sense of it. It doesn't seem to be that common, but I've found it on these records: Miles Davis-Live Evil Allman Brothers-Live at Fillmore East Who-Quadrophenia Who thought this was a good idea?? flood
well back in the day they made record players that would play multiple records in a row.. by dropping the 2nd record on top of the first... this way you could listen to 2 sides before having to flip them... i'd wager that was the reason. sgoodcore
Harry Belafonte has his live in Carnegie Hall record setup like that. Had to realize it before I converted the LP for CD listening in a car.

pibbals
I like records like that, as I have two turntables and a mixer, once one side is done, I just drop the needle on the other. Fun stuff.
