prowl20
My shitty Circuit City speakers that I've been using for the last 15 years finally bit the dust. It's been a long time coming and now it's time to upgrade. -Budget it ~ $300-350 -ideally passive speakers -I don't need bluetooth capabilities -bookshelf speakers that I can throw on my desk, which is where I listen to records -my receiver is nothing fancy. It's an Onkyo TX-8011 (impedance is 8 ohms) I was dabbling between a Klipsch R-51M (https://www.klipsch.com/products/r-51m-bookshelf-speaker) and Dali Spektor 2's (https://www.turntablelab.com/collections/speakers-alpha/products/dali-spektor-2-bookshelf-speakers-pair-black-ash) Any thoughts/recommendations, etc? Skacel
I’ve got these and they’re more than enough for my modest set up in the living room. It’s says discontinued but there’s probably a newer model out now. https://www.paradigm.com/en/passive/atom-monitor prowl20
prowl20
One of my friends also recommended NHT SuperOne 2.1's. So many choices https://www.nhthifi.com/products/10658-nht-superone-2-1?category_id=1964842-bookshelf-speakers&fbclid=IwAR1z3OVABN17JtJZb9-eww8TWulVugc7mSi5PGO08EPSxostnejvXV8ydho#customer_reviews
Skacel
If possible you could go to your local hifi store with some options and ask to demo them. That's what I ended up doing, tested a few different sets over an hour or so.
Smellman
Agreed that listening to them beforehand would be optimal. If you're unable to audition at a local store, I would take advantage of Amazon's easy return policy to audition at home. I recommend Elac Debut B6.2 There are lots of options in your price range.
