rhythmgtr5
So a guy with 0 feedback won my auction, I sent the record, but he "didnt get it". Does ebay protect the seller at all anymore or am i pretty much screwed? Has this ever happened to any of you? If so, how should I deal with this? hickey
Did you ship it within the U.S.? Did you use delivery confirmation? If your answer to either of those questions is 'no,' you're screwed.
eroc
i honestly don't think there is a damn thing you can do. i sold to two people in the past year that "didn't get it". one got the item about 2 1/2 months later. what can you do if the mail system is messed up... wish i had some advice, but i just tried to tell them to hang on and if they seriously didn't get the item - they probably would soon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Did you use delivery confirmation? If your answer to this is 'no,' you're an idiot. fixed
dante3000
The only (and from what I can tell, I do me ONLY) way to protect yourself is to ship using paypal. It requires delivery confirmation and it will only ship to their paypal address. In the future it will be the only option I'll use for ebay shipping. It sucks for international buyers as the only option is Priority (roughly $30 compared to $12 for first class) but when you sell a $100 record you can't risk getting scammed. sonix
ALWAYS get delivery confirmation. You are screwed. Welcome to the world of eBay.
rhythmgtr5
so you guys have been able to dispute something like this successfully just by getting delivery confirmation?
danthemjfan23
i learned my lesson a year ago on that. i won't even consider selling to anybody with less than 5 rating (i'll just cancel their bid if they're lower) and/or if they have a negative within the past month, or 2 within the last 6. it's just not worth the headaches.
