(the paper covers some of the damage, i really don't feel like taking another picture. this one was taken for a project.)

have you taken them out of the plastic sleeve that mike puts them in? this may have been a mistake on my part, of just storing it the way i did (leaving it in the sleeve, not keeping it upright--it was in a stack that was leaning against the shelf), but my redux test has marks allll over it. it really bums me out. even the ink from the certificate has been imprinted on the plastic sleeve. it was probably heat or something like that, but i find it hard to believe that heat got to it, since i keep my records in one of the coolest rooms in my house. and it was leaning against a shelf, but it wasn't at a ridiculous angle. it was more upright than the others, with it being so close to the beginning of the alphabet.

since then i've put it in its own sleeve, and put that in an outer sleeve.

the first thing i do when i get an asian man test in the mail (and i have like 8 now or something) is take it out of that sleeve and put it in one that can breathe. those things seem to suffocate the record, and like you said, the ink from the certificate ALWAYS seems to come off at least a little bit. hope your record isn't too messed up...

no no no... asian man puts their test presses in another kind of sleeve, they really cling to the vinyl and it can even sometimes be hard to get the record out of the sleeve. i'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's not just a regular polythene sleeve. if that's what you're using you'll be fine.

ok cool. got me a bit concerned there as i've nearly 500 records stored in polythene sleeves!
