robotnerd
by song? 5? 6? 7? by length? 15 minutes? 20 minutes? i've got 5 songs done in the bag, clocking in at around 15 minutes... can't decide if i want to hold out and make it a bit longer before releasing it. theambulancereview
5 songs and 15 minutes sounds perfect to me for an EP.
sgoodcore
I agree, nothing over 20 minutes for sure. I've seen EPs that go 6-7 songs and are 25 or so minutes.
danthemjfan23
5 songs is perfect. 6 is pushing it. 7 is too much, because really why wouldn't you just write 3 more and have a full length? if you have 5 songs, you're golden.
birdwell
i don't care about length as much as all of the material fitting together...if you knocked out 5 songs that all gel really well, go ahead and throw it out...if you're worried about filling space...please don't...I hate filler bull-shit that's nothing more than tag-along dribble. but that's just my opinion
robotnerd
nah, it's not a space filling issue, it's just i have a song and a half that are written but not recorded, and i'm just debating holding off till they're totally done, b/c i think they're really good so i'm excited about them. but i think i'm kinda leaning with you guys to the 5 song/~15 minute decision. birdwell
well hell, if you think they're killer, go ahead and flesh 'em out, record 'em and sequence that shit
