Constants - "The Foundation, The..." 3x12"

Recommended Posts

From their new myspace blog:

"Our new record "The Foundation, The Machine, The Ascension" will be released by three amazing labels all across the globe this June.

In the United States, the good people at The Mylene Sheath will be releasing our three part epic on 3x12" vinyl and also on CD in a 6 panel gatefold sleeve. These guys take their album packaging very serious, so expect nothing short of beauty. (http://www.myspace.com/themylenesheath)"

Great band, I've been meaning to snag one of those copies of The Murder of Tom Fitzgeral from Vega...totally should've done that with my Damiera order. This sounds like it will be a sweet package and Mylene Sheath has done a damn good job with all their stuff...should be a good combo.

From The Mylene Sheath!

The ethereal auditory beautification that is Constants have sculpted a magnificent collection of sound waves that captures all of the stars in the universe into a butterfly net and swings it around and around in ferocious intensity only to immediately release the stars back into the universe burning 1000 times brighter than they were initially. It's rare that music accomplishes this, but they've done it =)

This utterly epic three-part collection of songs is called "The Foundation, The Machine, The Ascension" and The Mylene Sheath will be releasing it here in the states this summer. The vinyl version will be a massive 3xLP gatefold and the CD will be a 6 panel gatefold sleeve with heavy, upgraded stock. Artwork will be handled by Ira Bronson @ Black Day Creative and is certain to slay.

The album will also be released on the CD format in Europe by Make My Day Records(w/alternate artwork) and in Japan by Stiff Slack Records (w/remix tracks by Jesu's Justin Broadrick & Caspian's Philip Jamieson).

The band has posted some new songs from the upcoming album on their myspace page, which you can go listen to HERE! And also have a lot of touring plans unfolding which you can read all about just below, via Will from the band:

"On the touring front:

Next month takes us down to South By Southwest with Caspian, where we will be playing shows including the Radar Recordings / Giant Steps Finale Party with Pelican, Wolves in the Throne Room, Tombs, Caspian, Junius, Adai, Pack of Wolves, Battlefields, Irepress, Calm Blue Sea and Howl.

We're also very excited to announce that we'll be crossing the pond and spending about 6 weeks touring Europe and the UK in support of the new record. We're still putting together details, but we'll be doing some shows with At The Soundawn who are most excellent and there will be a few other surprises as well.

Look for more news (yes there will be more), more details, and more tour dates over the next several weeks and months."

So it looks like this summer is turning out to be a HUGE one - with releases from Constants, Gifts From Enola, Actors & Actresses, and other stuff we can't talk about yet - so please head out and support the touring bands and continue to order records so we can give them lots and lots of money to tour with to make sure you can go see them =) No matter how much work we all do on this end, it doesn't mean much without your support on that end - so thank you very much, as always, for being so open-minded & accepting, hungry for new & different music. We promise you that this Constants album will not disappoint in the slightest and in fact, will raise the bar high for other bands to race and catch up to. Also, check out those other labels mentioned above, they do amazing things and are wonderful people.

That's all for now, we'll be having a big sale here to clear out some room for the upcoming releases - so we'll talk more about that in the march newsletter when it goes out on the 1st of March. Sign up for the newsletter!

How goddamn awesome is this news!!!!
