whateverrrr
The theatre company I used to work for has been doing this for a long time. But, I think it was only $2 more, and it was def. worth it because it was Harry Potter. But, they should bring back the original IMAX, where it was on the ceiling and the wall in a big bubble like room. Remember those days? Different from IMAX.

Whatever, all movies should be shown in that! I think you have to use a special kind of camera/lens/film for that. Probably not so practical. But the documentary type stuff that is shot for it is pretty rad.

enjoyadrian
the only major motion picture shot in imax has been the dark knight, and even then only the grand shots that were filmed on imax film. The reason most movies arent filmed in imax is because the imax cameras are expensive and very noisey, so it would cost money to overdub the audio. Most movies that are shown in imax are upconverted. This is like taking a 128kbps song and converting it up to 320kbps and trying to pass it off as that. AMC theatres are installing 4k sony projection systems in all their theatres, which is superior to the 2k projection systems that imax is using for releases like star trek. So essentially people will be paying 5 bucks extra for a lower quality resolution.

swank
Totally backing Aziz on this one. As I said on his talkback: If Mountain Dew sold dixie cups of their beverage, charged full price and called it "the 2 liter experience", people would up in arms across the board. ps. long picture roooolz.
