I was patiently waiting for my watermarked copy of the album and their publicist emailed me today to tell me that it had leaked. They know who did it and they are not happy (as you can imagine).

That's really interesting. So you would have had your own unique watermark? Its interesting because even on most of the torrent sites they acknowledge that certain version are not working in iTunes and other programs or the ID3 tags are messed up.

I do know of multiple people who have had copies for months know. I just heard it for the first time today.

This is a great album, definitely one of my favorites of 09 so far. It's only 11 bucks so pick up a copy of this if you haven't yet; the artwork alone should be worth it.

You mean in the waveform. "The sine of the soundwaves" doesn't mean anything.

What you are saying is that the watermark is actually in the data stream of the songs. It is embedded into the waveform. I did not know that. That's pretty cool.

back in the day, there was hype for bands and they had / have massive followings due to the fact that before downloading, you would buy an album when it came out and play the heck out of it:

Yeah, each reviewer would get their own watermark. I assume the people who have had it for months received it directly from the band sans watermarks. It has only been available to the press for about a week or so to my knowledge.
